Explosive Tipped Arrows

DemolitionRanch does a couple experiments:

Surprising results!  I wish he would have done the tests on meat rather than a cinderblock.  That binary explosive arrow was cool.

Demolition-Ranch-ENDO-Builders-ClubIt’s like a poor-mans exploding assault arrow I blogged about a while back.

Thoughts?

Without a barrel to direct the bullet, it’s just a glorified firecracker.

  3. That last one was cool. Surprised it detonated.

I used to put number 9 1/2 large rifle primers on the end of soft target arrows and shoot them at a brick wall, the were nice and loud, but otherwise useless. I always dreamed of putting a tuna can on the end of one of those with tannerite in it and a primer (difficult to explain how exactly) too see if it would explode. Never got around to that though as I’m not sure of the legality and I doubt it would fly very well

  5. There is already at least one product I know of that does this with a .38/.357 shell on the end of an arrow. Its just a holder with a pin that contacts that primer upon a target strike. But that one at least provides a little case wall support so that the round shoots a little better than just going pop.
