Similar in function to an ammunition magazine or “clip”, The BatteryClip not only organizes and protects batteries from dirt and accidental discharge, it assures that fresh batteries are available in an instant.
$25 each over at the BatteryClip website. They come in AA, 9 Volt, and soon AAA versions. I’m unsure if they will release reduced capacity versions for the less friendly states.
Holy, does everything have to have a gun related solution? I was going to make more fun of the idea of this, but then I realized that just the other day I needed batteries again for my Apple Keyboard (Yes this happens often because I spend like 20 hours a day on the computer eating Cheetos and trolling the internet) and I cut my thumb knuckle on the sharp edge of my Costco Kirkland blisterpack full of batteries. It was a rough day which will go down in blogging history my friends #NeverForget. A battery clip in my life will no doubt prevent future tragedies.
I’m just really hoping someone takes advantage of this whole “battery clip” (magazine) idea and makes a gun to fire the batteries. The clips (magazines) even fit in standard rifle mag pouches… how operator is that?!

Not a bad idea personally. I have, or will have, a glut of spare magazine pouches that are going to be either difficult or impossible to sell (ACU? WTF wants that?). Throw a couple inside a bag and throw these in, then there’s plenty of battery storage and they aren’t rolling around everywhere.
Give me a CR123 one, and I’ll buy it now!

Also lol at the mag pouch. How many batteries do you really need to have on you, instead of in your range bag/drawer at home?
Considering how often (and long) I go to the field (I’m active Army), the drawer at home isn’t a good option! Last field problem I went through the few surefire’s I had with and my full 6 pack spares. (lost one set to one being on all day) Didn’t have any need for NVGs or PEQs but I can see how having that for AAs would be good.

I could see these being handy. But they really need a CR123 version and to reconsider calling it a BatteryClip. If they really want to sell it to operators they’ll also need a mil/leo only version and get it endorsed by a famous HSLD instructor, preferably one whose experience is almost entirely unrelated to battery containers and their use.
I have a similar device for storing razorblades, and while it is not black i.e. tacticool, it is very handy. (though I am one of those nuts who believe pez dispenser technology should be available to civilians)
Got to go hands-on with these out here at ShotShow and they are awesome. great way to keep all your AA and CR123s from rolling around your bag!
These were invented by a Hollywood camera man who has to haul around allot of batteries during shoots.

They still make battery powered keyboards? I haven’t put anything but sunlight into my keyboard for about three years now…
I’m sure Apple will “invent” a “revolutionary new” solar powered keyboard in 2019.

That strikes me as a bad idea, as there’s too much chance of the user trying to fire it out-of-battery…. ;-)

For all those that were worried, there is a CR123 version. It’s not on the web site, but was spotted at the Bragg clothing sales.
