California Sen. Leland Yee Arrested – LOLz To The Max At The Irony

Oh wow this is too good:

The same guy who wanted to ban “assault weapons” and bullet buttons in trouble for firearms trafficking and a slew of other crimes.

He was charged with conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license, and to illegally import firearms as well as a scheme to defraud citizens of honest services.

Yee and Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, leader of the Chee Kung Tong Free Masons in San Francisco, were among 26 defendants charged in the federal criminal complaint Wednesday.

If convicted on all charges, Yee could face more than 100 years in prison. His bail was set at $500,000, unsecured, with the provision that he not leave the state. He was released from custody late Wednesday afternoon.

Full story – NBC

LOL “Shrimp Boy”, what an epic nickname.  I need to know the story behind that.

Looks like the Brady Campaign fails again. They honored Yee in 2006 for violence prevention.

mr-chow-hangover-did-you-dieThoughts?  I can’t say I’m surprised… he seemed like a slimeball to me from the beginning.  There are a lot of details about this case still emerging, but all I know is it all looks real shady.

“… considered by some to be a rising star in state politics…”

    WTF?

And 42 grand? That’s all? I am constantly amazed at how little money it takes to get these sociopaths to do shit for you.

No kidding, that’s what I was thinking! Leland Yee probably made that per month legally.

  4. I saw this story yesterday. Maybe he thought being anti-gun would throw of suspicion while increasing profits for his Triad buddies.
LA Times article said his “consultant” took a $5k “campaign donation” from the undercover acknowledging that it was soley as payment for setting up a meet. The undercover told them he needed automatics and shoulder fired middles and promised them $100k after the first deal.

I hadn’t seen this particular video report on him, and having said that I don’t know why FOX of all places didn’t report in a much harsher manner. It’s like the politicians who are focused on preventing child pornography who get caught with a hard drive or two filled with the stuff. There should be a clause that imposes greater sentences for people caught doing what they publicly were up in arms about. This guy was trying to get shoulder fired guided missiles for fucks sake.

  6. I would be willing to bet that more than half of the California legislature is at least this corrupt. They are all EVIL!!!!
