Hacking To Make Thermostats And Mall Ponies Explode

Richard Ryan doing cool stuff with cellphones, hacking, and remote detonation:

Watch Dogs looks and sounds like an interesting game.

Hahah whoa the shockwaves off the horse explosion were epic.  What a great shot of the black smoke and all the debris too.

Behind the scenes:

Richard-Ryan-Keep-Calm-ENDORichard is wearing the 1911 Keep Calm And Carry One t-shirt in parts of the videos.

If Richard didn’t have a ton of permits and licences, he’d be on so many watch lists right now.   Now Richard is not exactly a 1337 Hax0r, but I would consider him a hacker.

He must have a rich daddy.

    1. LMAO! I get that more than people probably realize. A story I’m actually proud of: Moved to LA with no place to stay, lived in my truck, worked up to 5 jobs a week, saved up enough money to put down a down payment and go in halves on a slow mo cam… Kept working all 5 all while trying to make YouTube videos and to this day still have 2 others outside of YouTube at the moment all without knowing my biological father :)

      1. RR, mind if I ask if you were EOD, or did you get civilian experience? Just curious. Great story though, I have a lot of respect for that- keep up the great work.

        1. Not at all! No prior military experience. I’m a type 20 manufacturer, though I don’t plan on manufacturing for distribution. I work with different organizations on a few different things in the world of firearms and explosives. One of which is a series I will be starting on soon solely about explosives and education around it and K9s.

I can feel the jealousy bleeding from my pores. reminds me of my childhood with a brother 4 years older!

    1. Haha! Don’t be jealous! I might figure out a thing were I do a “fantasy camp” or something like a safe handling course or something and open it up to certain people to come check out some demos. I do find it actually odd at times how me and some of my bomb tech friends have a positive association and get excited about some of what we do.
