Fake Everytown For Gun Safety Facebook Promo Ads

People were shitting a brick on the internet yesterday regarding these two pictures:

Everytown-For-Gun-Safety-Fake-Ad-1

Everytown-For-Gun-Safety-Fake-Ad-2

Yea, really dumb for obvious reasons which I’m not even going to bother getting into.  After 2 seconds worth of research though, you can see that the facebook link at the bottom of Everytown.org actually links to this facebook page, not the everytownforgunsafety.org one.

I’ll give them points for creative trolling.  Subtle enough they fooled a lot of people because the rest of the facebook page looked legit.

Michael-BloombergIf you missed the talk about Bloomberg’s $50 Everytown For Gun Safety check the link.  That initial fake page was taken down as predicted.

I also posted a great What if Guns And Cars Were Treated Alike comparison a while back you should check out.

Thoughts?

  1. I’ll make a deal with the devil here – If the government agrees to mandatory 5 year driver aptitude+fitness testing on all citizens age 55 and over, I will submit to their proposed ownership requirements as outlined above. I somehow don’t see this happening. ;)

  2. Oh, and if it’s possible to shoot the cartridge with the bullet, please share a link. This would save me like 20 minutes of range clean-up time. hahaha. I love the subtle trolling. These guys should get with the guys that made that glock video, and get this ammo into production post haste.

  3. I guess I am a little rusty on my knowledge of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. When did possession and use of an automobile become established as a constitutionally protected right?

      1. Freedom of movement is guaranteed not guaranteed use of a car. What average person needs to move at high rates of speed. That power should be limited to the military and police. NO ONE needs to use a car that is that big and moves that fast. The founders of our constitution never could have envisioned such fast and powerful moving vehicles. The average person should be limited to what was available at the time the constitution was written. For hunting purposes you can travel on horseback.

i have never seen a legitimate reason to sell cars that go faster than 55, if that is the speed limit. i also support ONLY police being able to drive fast, talk on cell phones while driving, eating while driving and putting makeup on behind the wheel.

Based on this, AZ would have the best vehicle laws in the country as well as the best gun laws. We have 75 MPH zones allow seniors to drive everywhere.

  4. Thoughts? This would be like if people thought themselves medical experts because they watched an episode or two of ER and then launched a campaign on medical regulations.

  5. Those posters came out of that page after Facebook gave it back to the feelbots.

  6. Let’s think of the things the progressive pinkocommies wouldn’t like with guns and cars being treated the same.

Take your gun with you to any state with no regulation.

Have no limits on the power of any gun you wish to own.

Lend your super car to anyone you want to.

Have a class of laws you can break using your gun that are just civil violations that you can mail a check in to pay for.

The ability to rent any firearm from any state and take it to anywhere you want and use it in any way

    Drive up ammo dispensers

Trade your firearm for another or anything in any other state you wish.

Be able to leave your AR15 in the yard sitting on blocks 24-7, ok maybe only certain neighborhoods.

If there is a tragedy involving a firearm always blame the driver er shooter unless they are someone special then blame some part on the gun but never call for bans.

  7. We fire the whole bullet, that’s 65% more bullet, per bullet!
