Det Cord Slow Motion Smorgasbord

Richard Ryan with some det cord eye candy:

LOL @ “I don’t like tha government tellin’ me what ta do”.  No kidding, seat belts just make sense.  Sure you could cite the few cases where a seatbelt killed someone, but it has definitely saved countless more lives than it has ended.

1:20 – Whoa, that slow motion zigzag across the water is really cool.  It’s amazing how quick that stuff is.

Richard-Ryan-ENDO-California-RKBA2:06 – Note to self.  Don’t ever hit an IED.

2:49 – LOL Richard has jokes today.

If you like the shirt he has on, it’s available in multiple colors over at ENDO Apparel.

That’s what freedom is all about. Not wearing a seat belt is really stupid. If you’re too dumb to figure that out, then it’s your problem. Paying men to run around and force free citizen to wear seat belts at the point of a gun is even dumber. I came to America by choice. I became a citizen of this great country by choice. I left one of those nanny-state utopias where the government feels entitled to tell you what you can and can’t do as it relates to everything in your life because they also pay for your medical care. If you’re fine with the state forcing you to do things for your safety, then don’t be surprised when the same idiots try to tell you that your guns should only hold one bullet at a time, that you should keep them unloaded and locked separately from your ammo, and you are only entitled to shotguns or hunting rifles. This is ‘Merica dammit!

  2. Thanks for posting @EndoMike! I’m always extremely cautious how I say things on the internet, sometimes overly cautious because once it’s up it’s up… The main reason is how some people might perceive what I am saying either by fault of my own for lack of inability to phrase it properly or their ability to understand where I am coming from. It’s easy when I have the ability to sit around and think about and proof read everything I say. This is one of those situations where we were filming a fairly taxing scientific shoot in the Texas heat last week and I rushed to get a video done so we could focus on the tasks at hand. Heck even the teaser date is wrong at the end of the video having less than 24 hours to edit it and upload…

I take an individual liberties extremely serious. I wasn’t condoning tickets for people opting to make choices that don’t affect others. One could argue that if the person not buckled up didn’t have health insurance and was severely injured then tax payers could be on the hook.. but that is semantics. I thought I had made it pretty clear that I was referring to the, not one, but many conversations I have had with friends who refuse to do things just because “the man” says they can’t. I think that’s moronic. Do I think it’s B.S. that the state of California requires you to sign a document that your guns will be stored in a safe? YES!!! Do I own a safe and store firearms when I leave my home… Yes! I don’t act irresponsible by leaving a MP7 on the kitchen counter so a burglar can break in and get their slimy hands on it (see what I did there).

Long story longer, the firearms community is easily one of the most loyal and hardcore bases you can have in your corner. Unfortunately, this passion can be overly critical at times in forums and blogs. I wish some trolls would channel their passion from ripping apart videos where a shooter ops to use vertical fore grip instead of an exaggerated C grip to people like the UCSB shooter’s dad who blames politicians and the NRA for what his son did instead of himself or the people around his son. We have enough hurdles to jump on our own together without spending time ripping each other apart.

Sorry for the long rant. I know we’re pretty much on the same page for the most part but I do read comments here and in my videos and it’s important to me that myself and the people who appreciate the stuff I make are on the same page. Having said all of that… The SUV from the video was from a shoot I’m doing with Dr Geoffrey Desmoulin from Deadliest Warrior and Bravo Zulu Services with their next generation blast panels. We blew up 3 SUVs in the name of science :)

      Rich,

My Mom and Dad taught us kids to wear seatbelts growing up. The only time I didn’t wear a seatbelt, and got in an accident, I ended up getting a “free” ride to the Hospital. I’ve taught my kids to wear seatbelts.

People may not like the law, however, the same people we voted to represent us over guns and free speech, also represent us with seatbelt laws. With ObamaCare and other taxpayer funded healthcare, we the tax payer, end up paying when someone is hurt in a accident and the injury could have been lessened by the use of a helmet, or seatbelt. If it’s the law, write them a ticket.

On a side note: I ran into some young Marines from 3rd EOD here in Los Alamos, NM, they are huge fans of yours. They mentioned that your videos are some of the coolest things they’ve seen.

ENDO, when I asked them about you they just smiled and nodded

      1. @dgdimick I really appreciate the support. Over the years of I’ve built a thick skin for internet comments. It still really amazes me when I realize that people actually do watch my videos. I know that seems like a duh statement but hearing like minded individuals appreciate the videos I make for fun is extremely humbling.

Where can I get me somma that fancy chord? But seriously. I’m very, very, jealous. I always like Ryan’s expensive….. er, I mean explosive videos. Makes me realize how awesome and exceptional this country and its people are.

I wear a seatbelt 100% of the time and anyone in my car will do the same or get out and walk. I was in a rollover accident (myself and a few friends) on break from high school up in the mountains by San Isabel, Colorado. I think the driver was wearing his, but nobody else was. None of us were seriously hurt, but it certainly opened our eyes.

Now why is it I see a bunch of motorcyclists in this state without helmets? There’s no helmet law in Colorado for riders 18 and up. But we have seatbelt laws. If that isn’t the stupidest thing ever, I don’t know what is.

I appreciate your opinion, I just don’t like the slogan and talking points straight from the DOT campaign. It makes it seem like you are getting some sort of kick-back for this TDOT commercial slash PSA.
