Tactical Grandpa Ballistic Blanket

The German old guys of Lahner Academy are at it again:

It’s basically the high-speed version of the derpy bodyguard ballistic blanket I posted about last week.

The best part about these videos is watching the old guys demonstrate by beating the crap out of one another.

Lahner-Academy-TrainingAre soft armor shield configurations like this used at all in the US?

Thoughts?

  1. I’ve seen tests where soft ballistic panels need backing to stop bullets. IE if you get shot in the vest the force of your gut holding the vest steady allows the kevlar to dissipate the energy of the round. meanwhile hang it like Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon III (The funniest one!) and most rounds will sing right through.

      Yup. This.

Plus, if you could wear this thing as a vest, why in the HELL would you deploy it as a shield?

Why let the guy stand there and beat you? Just shoot him and be done with that.

Effective against rubber knives and karate chops. I’ll take 50!

Was wondering if I was the only one who caught those crawling up his forehead.
