Wolf Blitzer – Shooting To Warn Or Injure

Ya, warning shots are so loud and scary though!  Why do that either?

Oh these guys… The guy Wolf is talking to (Jeffrey Toobin) was right on some counts but then he derped hard on others.

Anyone who’s taken junior high level human biology knows that smashing a piece of copper/lead at 1000+ fps through a part of anyone’s body is likely going to cause major trauma because there is IMPORTANT STUFF EVERYWHERE.  Not to mention the fact that police officers are not all 22Plinksters / Jerry Miculeks at the best of times (zero stress), never mind when some shit head you’re trying to apprehend or stop from hurting you or someone else is freaking you out. Yea sure, you’re just going to be able to “wing him” *insert eyeroll here*

Gangsta-Shooting-TrendI’ve had to have the “shoot to kill / shoot to wound” conversation with so many people in real life, I’m pretty tired of it.

Thoughts?

Two things, LE is trained to shoot to stop the threat, and with that training they are taught to shoot center mass, they are not trained to shoot to “kill”, being shot is inherently dangerous and can cause death. Secondly in a high stress incident a Officer will only shoot a fraction of his trained ability, so to think that in a high stress situation an Officer is going to “shoot to injure” is foolish. And to finish my rant WTF is wrong with the media? Do these people not read and study up on the subjects they are going to be reporting on? To no ends does it annoy the crap out of me that they would make statements and or ask the questions they do and keep a serious face………no talent ass clowns.

Nothing like a lawyer who was never a cop, giving cop advice!

CNN is stoking the fire today. Ive noticed they are basically taking the word of witnesses as gospel. How ever when the Officers version was released/leaked today and his version conceited with witnesses the media (CNN) is blowing it off. If this goes to trial I foresee another 1992 LA riots. Nation wide I dont know but for sure in the areas they are rioting now.

CNN stokes the fire on everything. Ratings = ad revenue. I find it very hard to believe the police officer gunned down this kid in cold blood in broad daylight. I’m not saying that as a white person… i’m saying that as someone with a few neurons capable of thought.

The only true eye witness willing to speak out was also complicit to a robbery just minutes prior. Unfortunately anyones who would have additional information won’t speak up because right now it’s the us -vs- them mentality. They would be ostracized from their community and could potentially have their lives threatened.

As Drap says – they shoot to stop. If this guy was indeed 300lbs, I can see why it may have taken him 6 shots to go down.

The truth of this whole matter will come out in the wash. No one will want to hear it or believe it though.

Not fond of the entire video, but the description of the event here makes much more sense than what I’ve heard elsewhere.

Also, it’s not shoot to kill. It’s shoot to stop.

i believe all police are trained to shoot like mel gibson in lethal weapon. Berettas to take down helicopters and Mexican carry all day long. Before roll call every day police are told that no matter what, whether it be traffic stop or hostage situation you do it his way. “You shoot, you shoot to kill and get bloody on this one”
