Stop Taking Selfies And Disregard Gun Safety

Gun safety isn’t cool in the hood now, and never was cool in the hood:

Trigger discipline, safe directions, and being sure what’s beyond your target are for NARCs.

I used to have so much respect for the LOX.  This song is a long way from the Money Power Respect & We Are The Streets album days.  I guess you gotta stay topical though… and selfies are (or at least were topical).  At least all the members are looking healthy… eating right and hitting the gym no doubt.

Even the beat on this is weak.  Sounds like something you could choose by default on an electronic keyboard from walmart.

LOX-Rap-GroupApparently the LOX does have a new album dropping Oct. 31st called “The Trinity: 2nd Sermon” *FUNK FLEX BOMB DROPS**FUNK FLEX BOMB DROPS*.  Despite this song, I’ll definitely give it a chance.

Thoughts?

I used to be really into hip hop… but goddamn if 90 percent of it is the most ignorant shit ever… Just full of assclowns. “We out here rappin about the reality we live in..” Well that’s all fine and dandy ol son, but reality is what your stupid ass is makes it. There is a really interesting article I read about an economics major you embeds himself in a black gang that specialized in crack dealing. They ran everything like a corporation, had legit money laundering business, LLC’s the whole ball of wax. One of the conclusions was that while privileged middle and upper class white kids were emulating inner city gang bangers and hood kids, the exact opposite was happening on the other end of the spectrum. These gangs were emulating suburban businessman and business models. I think some of these rappers would be surprised if they started promoting meaningful change and positivity and stopped pushing a violent, gang oriented, don’t give a fuck, do what feels good in the moment agenda how much it would change their communities for the better. Hell, most wouldn’t even have to push a positive agenda, all they would have to do to stop causing damage is shut the fuck up.

        LOL so much truth.

  2. If I was going to create an app which spit out gangsta-rap lyrics and videos, it would have created that.
