Dad Jeans With Internal Proprietary Holster Attachments

The idea is interesting, I’ll give them that:

$129 pre-order over at S&S Precision.

From what I can see, those are straight up dad jeans.  I’m a bit of a denim snob, and even if you aren’t I’m pretty sure you like the fit and cut of a particular brand the best.  Make this system adaptable to other jeans, then you might have something mass marketable.

This seems like just another reinvention of the wheel, yet not as good.  The one initial advantage I thought there would be, is that there would be no holster clips visible if a person had their shirt tucked in…. well if you look at how they thread the system in at the beginning of the video, it doesn’t even look like you could tuck your shirt in front of the gun at all. You can do that with a LOT of IWB holsters, which is a good option to have obviously.  That “Expedient carry” pocket doesn’t really look all that useful either.  Sure it would be Mexican carry if you get up from the couch because you heard a noise outside, but it looks like it would be easy to fumble the draw.

Dad-Jeans-With-Built-In-HolsterThoughts? What problem is this solving that I am overlooking? Seems like it’s just creating new ones.

  1. If Endo is a denim snob, what kind of jeans does Endo wear?

Just kidding hah. In all seriousness I don’t buy what is considered TIER -23… But I do wear Naked and Famous, Nudie, APC. Raw denim no matter what… Nothing predistressed. I let my own operations dictate the wear; sadly which is mostly D-wear from my crotch hitting the bottom of my desk lol. I would like to get some Balmain biker jeans in theory anyway but I’ve never tried on a pair. Next time I’m in NYC I plan on getting fitted at 3×1 http://3×1.us/bespoke … I’ve been following them for a while and really like the concept. What about you?

      1. Naked & Famous is a “good value” jean, made in Canada out of Japanese denim. Thumbs down on APC; made in Tunisia. Nudie are made in Italy of different denims, some from Japan, some from Italy, some from Turkey. 3×1 is Scott Morrisson of Paper Denim & Cloth and Earnest Sewn. The 3×1 jeans look/feel like Earnest Sewn jeans; not that interesting to be honest. I’m wearing Kicking Mule Workshop today, though they closed shop last year. Best denim is made in Japan. If you want a special pair of jeans, be sure they’re made in Japan. They bought all the old looms from the US denim makers in the ’80s when we dumped narrow width shuttle looms and went high speed. Check out this shop, they have the best denim selection in the US: http://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/the_shop

If it ain’t selvage, I ain’t wearing it. I like my shit custom son! Selvage jeans with a solid think gun belt makes for very great retention. Come to think of it, I think that creating something similar in a pair of selvage would work great since they are so solid.

      Yea I’ll drink to that.

  3. neat idea, but not $128 a pair neat.

  4. $129 for non-tuckable carry that only works on one set of pants. You can get a good tuckable iwb and belt to work with all your pants for less. I’d also be concerned that the belt looks too flimsy to support the gun and that universal side holsters usually aren’t very good.

I don’t really think tuckable is a deal killer for jeans, but I’d suggest modifying existing jeans and offering model-specific holsters.

  6. Offering some sort of sew-in retention system you can easily mod all your jeans with and then attach the holster to makes more sense.

    Kinda like MOLLE for IWB.
