Someone also please explain what the point of having the sunglass lanyard hanging down in front of your neck is. Is that another high-speed thing I wouldn’t understand? is his forward momentum always so great that he’s more worried about his sunglasses lifting up and flying off behind him?

being Australian i can probably help with this as its mainly aimed at people being out side the USA in shit holes like mine.
hes talking about in many places self deference its about using antiquate force to keep your self safe and not escalating the situation or defusing it by some one getting hurt/killed unnecessarily.

Dayum Mike, quit busting I.Z.’s balls. I think it was the second or third video I ever saw of the guy where he talked about his heavily accented English. He knows he speaks English funny. He’s aware of the situation.
If you walked out onto a range somewhere and all of a sudden Z appeared at the line you’d be an instant girl wanting him to show you ‘how he does that’. You know you would. :)
While his shooting skills look impressive to the masses, they’re not really anything special. You can see better performances at local IDPA and USPSA matches – sectionals and state matches you’ll see much better. Everyone went ga-ga over his .8 second draw and first shot. I regularly shoot a .95 first shot split. The different between .8 and .95 is less than the blink of an eye (eye blinks average 300-400 milliseconds). There are people I shoot with who can shoot that first shot in .67 seconds. If you spend enough time, and money, shooting you’ll get much faster. Even regular dry fire sessions will bring first shot times down by as much as 40%.

vaguely on topic, but at the only range in NYC there is a notice “no headshots allowed”. wondered what that was about but never ask. i wonder if you put one in the silhouettes melon, does a dalek appear and announce “on the orders of Obergruppenführer Bloomberg and Gruppenführer Cuomo, incinerate yourself immediately citizen”.

Maybe he keeps the earpro on so he doesn’t have to hear himself talking. Just a though. The hat I can see, he has no hair up there. One video he had the hat off. I guess male pattern baldness doesn’t go with the image he’s crafted.

The lanyard is clipped to his earpro. You can see it in the second part of the shooting when he does his scan.
I think Zero is cool. I used to be a hater but I think there’s a sneaky undercurrent of humor in a lot of his vids. As there is quite often in Funker productions.

Second, in several of his other videos that you have posted on ENDO you can see that the lanyard is attached to his earpro so he can sling it when he (if ever) takes it off I guess.
