Bulletsafe – Putting A Bulletproof Panel In A Flexfit Hat Kickstarter

People apparently want this:

LOL yea because so many people die from head shots every year.  *smh* Wtf is this Call of Duty?

If you’re so worried that you’re going to be executed square in the forehead (from a high angle… you’re on your knees?) when you leave the house in the morning maybe you should pick a new place to live?  Actually maybe I’m not being paranoid enough… you should probably get bulletproof earmuffs for winter (that look like regular earmuffs), bulletproof glasses. a bulletproof neck warmer (that looks like a regular neck warmer), bulletproof gloves, a bulletproof jock cup, bulletproof pants, and kevlar socks with bulletproof shoes.

The scientific test… note all the testing instrumentation and equipment:

From the FAQ:

Won’t the force from the impact kill you anyway?

No. The amount of energy in a handgun round is high, but not as high as some people seem to believe. A .45ACP has about 450 Joules of energy. A hockey slapshot has about 240. So the amount of impact you would feel is on the order of twice the impact of being hit in the helmet with a hockey puck. Is that enough to give you a concussion? Maybe? It is certainly in that range, but a concussion would be a welcome outcome when compared to the damage a bullet would do to the same area without protection.

Hats are hot enough to wear in any decent weather… I can’t imagine that panel inside would be even remotely comfortable in any sort of heat.

Notch-HatIf Kickstarter had someone filtering out the retarded ideas meant to separate people from their money, they would have like two successfully funded projects in the history of the site.  That said, if you want to throw some money at this one go for it.

Me?  I’m squirreling all my money into buying notch hats.  Buy low sell high bitches!!!!! yeeeeeeeeee haw!  Notch x BulletSafe collab on the horizon?  Mankind could only be so lucky.  Get Instructor Zero endorsing it and that may just be the first tactical billion dollar product.

Thoughts?

  1. “He’s alive.”

Yes but he’s going to need the soon to be released bullet-proof bicycle helmet for his bullet-proof wheel chair.
Why? Because he’ll be waiting to get SSD checks every month for being legally recognized as mentally handicapped.

    Bad idea.

  2. So you can armor 1/3 of the least likely spot you’ll catch a round? Sweet. I’m holding out for a Class IIIA tuxedo T-shirt.

      ^ LOL this

  3. Pure marketing genius.

  4. Meh, I’m okay with it. I see a lot of cops with hats on and shit does happen to them… Still, tooling costs them $19k but they couldn’t another 3.5k to get it done? Gotta be some marketing bullshit just to get on ENDO.

  5. so my problem is Hockey pucks have killed people the death of a fan after taking a puck to the head at an NHL game is why we have safety nets. so if i have to take 2 times the energy of a hockey puck to my head with something that is not designed to dissipate the force properly like a goalie’s helmet then yeah I do not need Severe brain damage at best and slow death at worst.

If all I am going to get in terms of actual protection is that I could have a open casket funeral instead of a closed casket funeral I will pass.

Also do not get me started on why I should fund a commercial project that you see as commercially viable but unwilling to risk the capital on or is it not commercially viable and you just want an excuse to get people to buy the equipment to be repurposed into something else later.

CCW EDC is awesome but passive protection is not? “…maybe you should pick a new place to live” is straight out of the gun grabber playbook. Not on point.

I don’t know if this particular item is awesome or not, but I’m all for anything that gives me protection and keeps me grey.

If you’re fearing for being executed in the head on your knees, would you not agree there are safer places to live? If you’re not Law Enforcement i’m assuming you still already wear a vest everyday / all day right?

I’m happy for them that there are people who think this is a good idea… where does it end though? I poked fun at that in the post.

It ends wherever the individual decides it should end.

Current events show that there may not be a place left on this earth where being executed on your knees is not a very real possibility.

Hey bro, at least you won’t be dead….but you will probably be drooling on yourself for the rest of your, well you won’t you’re miserable because you’ll be too potato to know the difference.

  8. So he cuts up a kevlar helmet and sticks it in a hat. Big deal. Probably heavy and really comfortable im sure. Probably feels like getting hit in the head with a hammer.

  9. Will they be adding a Velcro strip to it for morale patches and other tactical shit? That would make it bad ass and increase sales. Don’t tread on me bro.

Maybe a pink one or muddy girl camo version for the ladies. Ladies love pink.

  10. You should sell notch hats in the endo apparel store with your designs on it!

    1. This ^^^ 11/10 would operate with.

  11. I could see the notch hat being potentially useful; but the hats are a joke.

From a pure business standpoint, crowd sourcing is smart since it reduces the risk; but this product just makes no sense. Jewelers wearing baseball hats in case they get hit from a very specific angle? Stupid.

  12. Great! Instead of being hypothetically killed by a bullet to the forehead, my neck is snapped and I’m full-body paralyzed for life.

Frankly, I’m not convince which is the lesser of two evils.

  13. Folks that are nay-saying this are no better than the people complaining about police militarization. This is perfect for UC Operations, these cops risk their lives everyday so we can sit behind our keyboards every night and pretend like we know it all. If it wasn’t for them you would likely be too concerned about the scumbags trying to break into your homes and steal the MacBooks and flat screens scattered throughout your homes. Yes I agree, there will not be a lot of use in the civilian market but no business plan would willingly limit the potential market there with all of the keyboard and range commandos running around.

This product has a lot of potential, so if that could give my brother even a %10 better chance of coming home to his wife and kids then I’ll gladly buy 5 of them for him. As it stands I’m putting faith in these guys and I’ve already finalized my kickstarted transaction.

    That’s my .02

Nice idea, pretty sure you’d dead. The amount of deformation the round cause would result in, best case scenario, major skull fracture. Your not getting back up, your going to the hospital, and if you make it there your getting a big hole cut in your skull to relieve the pressure on your brain. Enjoy eating through a tube.

That said, hope they keep trying and invent something legit. This seems like a nice tool in the tool box to give you some low-pro coverage.
