Mythbusters?
The same Mythbusters twaddle of twats that “busted” this “myth”: They attempted to shoot through a rifle’s scope, and failed; and so they concluded that Carlos Hathcock must have been lying when he reported doing this to an enemy sniper in Vietnam.
Because they couldn’t reproduce it themselves. With their amateur marksmanship abilities; with 4 or 5 tries; using a piece of modern (coated, sealed) optics for the target instead of, say, a scope (non-pressurized tube with Russian uncoated lenses at each end) that might have been used by the Viet Cong in 1967. So they concluded that a decorated hero, a legend, had lied, and publicly declared this, based on this scant evidence.
And I’ve not even gone into their serial abuse of the scientific method on every single episode. Controls? Those are for pussies. These idiots once proved Anthropogenic Global Warming with a home-made greenhouse. They’re an embarrassment.
