AR-15 Quad Rail Wit Da Beamz

Honestly despite this promo video being the worst, this probably isn’t a terrible idea:

LED-AR15-Quad-RailI like the low profile (no profile) aspect of it, as opposed to having a flash light mounted on the rail as most people do now.  My guess is this whole setup weighs next to nothing, so there’s another positive.  The main thing that sucks with integrated solutions though is that if something goes wrong with it, or you don’t like it anymore tough luck you’re stuck with it.   LED flashlights that I own run pretty hot too, so that would be another negative if they are heating up that end up the rail where you’re trying to Costa-sharkjump-grip.

I bet current rail manufacturers would be able to do some pretty cool stuff integrating the LEDs into the rails, if the decide the pros outweigh the cons.  If the guy who made the video can actually get a patent, he might be able to make a ton off licensing.

There is no website for this product, only this facebook page.  There are some more pictures and some minor discussion there if you want to take a look.

Thoughts?

  1. For home defense it’s fine. For operators engaged in operations, like you said, the modular system allows replacement of broken stuff of switching out doodads for different scenarios.

I like the idea and I am sure it will be refined eventually. That said, any integrated light needs to be bombproof and waterproof. This thing looks neither.

I didn’t know you could take video with a potato.

  3. You know Casta Shark-Jumper requires you to have back up light on your system. As for heat, they’re attached to a big aluminum heatsink.
Cool idea, surprised this hasn’t hit off before. Weapon lights are fucking uuugly, no reason they need to be a handheld light in a clamp, clamped to the gun. You’re never taking that shit off.

One advantage of standalone weapon lights vs this thing is throw. Most weapon lights meant for rifles or carbines have a deep reflector that forces all the light into a fairly focused beam. The more focused the beam, the farther out the light can reach for a given level of brightness. I can’t tell too much from the video, but from the picture it looks like this thing doesn’t use reflectors at all. That’s fine for inside a house, but if you want to see targets 100yds away, you’d need a proper light with some throw.

      Good point regarding the reflectors!

  6. So you want to get people hyped about your new product?

First thing you light up is a toilet.

      Haha genius marketing!

  7. This seems like it’s just an upper receiver barrel nut with LEDs in the port holes…

Looks like they cleared the nicest trailer in the whole danged trailer park Jeb!

  9. Seems like a cool idea. Modularity could be achieved easilly. You make the end ring self contained and thread that bad boy into the main rail section. And as MrMaigo said, the entire rail system is a heat sink for the LEDs to dum into. Based on the pic, though, it looks like he’s using something akin to an Adafruit NeoPixel ring which as I understand it doesn’t generate all that much heat.

Obviously the 550 degree barrel will make it more reliable + mil spec 90 gauge wiring and a toilet paper roll size hand guard…

Still though if the concept could be perfected, there is no way in hell vampires will let you shoot them, or something.

Back to taking shower with a long rifle ops

  11. Good idea, needs a lot of work. And really, did he film that with a flip phone? Worst promo I’ve seen in a log time… and the least aggressive house-clearing I’ve ever seen.

  12. nice use of lady gaga in your pitch ad

  13. Is there enough space for my KX3? If not then I can’t operate.

Who is the supplyer of thi video i am offering a reward for this information. I have the patent on this so who wants to talk to my attorney.

You’re offering a reward for information which is available to anyone who actually watched the video? Cool story bro. Considering you spelt multiple words wrong, and have terrible grammar I’m going to go out on a limb and call bullshit on that, and the patent part as well.
