Beretta GunPod App Brings App Technology To Hunting

Brand new Beretta app:

Smart guns… Apps. Originally I was gearing up to talk shit about the app because I wasn’t expecting it to be useful honestly.  Ain’t no half steppin’ at Beretta though, this app actually sounds and looks pretty legit:

Stop wondering how many cartridges you shot last month or how many miles you walked with your dog: GunPod 2 will hold these statistics for you! The highlights of your hunting sessions, along with photos and videos, finally collected in a handy digital archive. And if you want to share on social networks? With GunPod 2 you can.

The cartridges shot part is the most cool (putting that accelerometer to use I see).  We all know there are plenty of other apps for the “miles walked”, selfie, and facebook functionality.

Some things I had to say about the video:

0:38 – “Well done dog, lets take a selfie together!” (note the dog struggling to get away from such a basic maneuver)

0:44 – “Sup fellow Beretta bro?” *daps exchanged with the right hands*

0:46 – Shows texts from a centerfold where he ain’t reply, let her know he read it though.  Voicemail say she ready tho.  Beretta know he credible.

Beretta-Firearms-Logo0:54 – The dog is like *SMFH*

You can read more about the app and download it on the Beretta site.

Thoughts?  Can’t wait to try it out?

Not to be that guy, but isn’t part of the hunting experience that you disconnect from fucking the Candy Crush invites for a couple of hours?

+1 to that sentiment. My phone is there for safety and quietly getting in touch with my distant hunting buddies. Last thing I would want to be doing is checking texts, work email, FB, etc. And for taking pics of successful/remarkable harvests. Needless to say, the camera doesn’t get used much…

I don’t think it would register shots from my bow. Also, what Joe said. I carry my phone hunting for safety, but it’s OFF until I get back to the truck. USPSA and 3GN are the proper venues for gun selfies.

I already came up with something like this years ago called basic math, a notebook with pencil, and a map.
