Taploader Custom Glock Slide Raises The Question Of Why

LOL proprietary shit for everyonnnnnnne! *in best Oprah voice*:

Seriously people spent actual time and money developing this?  I CAN’T EVEN.  This is such a Cowwadoody basement dweller type product, but even those guys would scoff at that fact this thing has only ONE purpose and it’s not even one that’s even necessary.  The firearms industry has reached such a level, where people think there is so much money to be thrown around they try to fix things that aren’t broken in hopes of getting rich quick.

A lot of people can bring the slide home on their Glocks when they jam the mag in hard enough anyway.  Seems to happen on M&P pistols too.

oprah-derp-faceDon’t forget guys, pre-orders start in April. *snicker*

Check out the TapLoader website for more info.  Oh and one final thing, their motto: “The best thing to happen to your Glock in years!” *drops mic*

  1. Moving…thumb…too…much…….effort….so…exhausted

  2. It’s notched, so I can def wear my notch hat with this.

  3. Why not just get an M&P? It does the same thing without some stupid expensive aftermarket part. Slam a mag on a reload and the slide comes forward and the round chambers. If you have an M&P, try it.

    1. You beat me to it. Been shooting an M&P 9 Pro for about a year in USPSA and noticed the automatic reloads right away. I thought I had the only one though.

      1. I got two of them and they both do the same thing. Everyone I know who has one has one that does the same thing. It does drop reload times, that’s for sure.

I think it’s purposefully part of the design, and must be done canted at a 45* angle. I should try doing this at 90*, but I have to go to work : (

        2. I like that about them a lot. I have 3, two full size and one compact and the full size always do it. You’re right that it’s super fast. My only complaint is that once in a while it doesn’t do it, and I’m at full extension and pressing a trigger before I realize that my slide is locked rearward. Not a big deal on the range, but big deal in a fight.

Smith actually says that this “feature” is a problem indicative of worn parts/springs. But their lawyers prob tell them to say that.

          1. I think it’s indicative of their barn-door engineering. I made B class with mine, but I’m jumping ship to CZ as soon as money is in place. Too much slop in too many important dimensions. And even after the AEK the trigger still sucks because of ten miles of overtravel.

          2. Well then, my springs were worn as soon as I bought the gun. They’ve both done it since the day I bought them.

Same here. My M&P9 has always done that.

2015 is definitely going to be the year of “Holy fuckballs, why is this a thing?”

    2. The Beretta M92FS does the same as well.

      1. Do you have the US or Italian version? I’m curious as my 92FS does not do this.

Another solution looking for a problem.

  5. After my Glocks get worn in, I just slam the mag in hard, and the slide releases, chambering a round. All this for free with no mods or special parts. Besides, it’s good practice to slam the mag in hard to ensure that it seats.

  6. I really wish my AR did this. Where’s the aftermarket component for that? Anyone have a kickstarter link, please?!?!

  7. I have experienced this “feature” with a few Walther PK380s as well.

About 90% of everything coming out for nearly every gun in the last 5 years raises the question of “why.”

My first Glock 20 years ago did this out of the box. I called up the gun store and was told, “That’s not a bug, it’s a feature.”
Then, my H&K USP .45 did it.

    I’ll never understand some people.

Yeah, I was going to say that people have noticed this happening with USPs since forever. HK’s like “Uh, we meant to do that. It’s a feature, not a bug…”

  10. Yup my Glock 19 does that anyways when I really slam in a mag.

This is old technology. My company and I have developed technology where you can shoot rounds straight from the magazine without the use of a gun. We have removed the middle man all together.

    1. Ooh sweet! Are you on Kickstarter so I can fund it? Also I have mad potato skillz if you want a kickin promo video.

  12. My Fn Fnx45 USG does this on occasion.

  13. Mark 23 did this by design. Even said so in its manual.

  14. A fool and his money yada yada yada.

  15. Bersa pistols have been doing this for years.

  16. As others have said…my G30 does this when I slam the mag in hard. Even if it didn’t, I wouldn’t buy this ghetto looking mod.

  17. I will gladly test and evaluate this product. contact me

In the 90s a gunsmith taught me where to carefully shave a 1911 slide stop in order to induce an “automatic reload”. Works reliably on all 8 of my 1911s.
Cost: about 15 minutes filing and testing with dummy rounds.
Love my M&Ps now, they come with it installed.

Costa and Haley talk about eh 45 degree technique in their magpul videos.
