DEVTAC Ronin Kevlar Ballistic Helmet – Mall Ninjas Rejoice

*SMFH*… only 5lbs guys and you just might not die of heat exhaustion, or from breathing your own killer caesar salad breath recycled air:

Devtac-Ballistic-Helmet*gasp* it even has picatinny rails, and an optional “tactical mohawk*.  The mall ninja cool factor is definitely there, I’ll give them that.  Like who wouldn’t want to look like a ninja from the year 2092?  Man I’m just getting hot thinking about wearing one and walking across the room even though.

ALL their YouTube videos are infuriating… if you click through and watch any of them don’t say I didn’t warn you.  I didn’t just post an annoying one on purpose, trust me.

There are lots more pictures of the helmet plus the airsoft version with various paintjobs and configurations on their facebook page.

Thoughts?

Its Airsoft shit, who cares?

ENDO-Mike June 1, 2015 at 01:03 pm

They put Kevlar in it and are saying it can stop the real deal. They do make airsoft specific as well through.

Josh November 17, 2016 at 02:11 pm

Where can i buy these kind for airsoft?

Tim hazley May 25, 2018 at 06:48 am

Nice would like to buy … send address thx
Cool.

William January 28, 2019 at 08:37 pm

Zach morton January 30, 2019 at 03:00 pm

james February 21, 2018 at 03:55 pm

They make an airsoft version (400) and 2 tactical versions (1400-1600) the back plate is 400.

Steve May 2, 2019 at 06:53 pm

So why are you here? I don’t use air-soft personally. I’m retired Army and own a company That makes products for LE/Military. Safety equipment, vests, helmets, proprietary engineered stuff you personally will never see. Some of it we don’t even take to the Shot Show in Vegas (Manufacturers only to Store/LE/Military buyers only, mid January). But calling someone’s item shit? That’s just ignorant. Can you make it? You mentioned Airsof. Can you make one to stop a 308 at a mile? I doubt it… if you can’t then you might want to keep your opinions to yourselves unless you want to be nice. That is I less your 12. God I hate millennials. Accomplished nothing, bang in everyone demand respect for zero in return and expect to be paid while their ass is being kissed. There is a helmet close to this that is Kevlar, UHMWPE, Lexan and Carbon fiber. Even a Spider that makes a silk that can hold x-PSI you have never seen. I’m not allowed to say. They are even controlled to make a lightweight sheet that will stop a .50 cal and can also conduct electricity. The guy who made it began in Airsoft Shit!

Anthony August 16, 2022 at 05:38 pm

Your absolutely right former navy here hooyaa Steve you tell em.

Tantal74 June 1, 2015 at 04:19 am

The assburgers is strong with this guy.

MrMaigo June 1, 2015 at 06:40 am

Uuuh… hmm, I’ll bite. Gaps everywhere you wouldn’t want them, rain funnels on the lens, magnets. I guess you can pull the cheeks off when you feel like breathing.

Disco June 1, 2015 at 07:38 am

Part of me thinks that looks like something a bad guy from Metal Gear would wear

And then part of me thinks that would make an excellent prop for BDSM.

tincankilla June 1, 2015 at 10:59 am

ya know, middle ages armorers didn’t have snags and gaps in helmets for a reason.

Squirreltakular June 1, 2015 at 12:45 pm

Definitely thought it was a prop for a Guardians of the Galaxy or Avengers movie.

Would look cool as a motorcycle helmet? Maybe? If it looked like it would actually protect you from, you know, anything.

ENDO-Mike June 1, 2015 at 12:46 pm

Definitely would have a 100% success rate defending virginity, I think we can all agree on that.

Llewellyn June 1, 2015 at 01:32 pm

Ill bite as well. WTF are you supposed to do for earpro? It looks like you’re restricted to ear plugs. Even then you have to take it fully off to adjust. Don’t get me started on overear and forget about any sort of comms, the magnets did that in.

ENDO-Mike June 1, 2015 at 01:36 pm

Putting a rifle stock against this thing and pulling the trigger would probably be loud as hell inside the mask too.

KestrelBike June 1, 2015 at 03:02 pm

All your guys’ negative attitudes are just pushing us farther away from socially-acceptable daily Boba Fett helmet usage.

Mrgunsandgear review in 1… 2… 3….

lucusloc June 2, 2015 at 11:52 am

What, no one is going to comment on how a direct hit would turn your brain to mush just from transferred energy alone? At least this one has padding, unlike the ballistic ballcap. . .

And holy crap GAPS! GAPS EVERYWHERE! Does the stuff in between the gaps at least stop spalling? If it does not you are going to be sad no matter where you are hit.

You probably should not take your armor design cues from video games dude, the animators are not engineers (as anyone on the Star Citizen forums can tell you.)

SF June 2, 2015 at 05:49 pm

Yeah, and the eye lenses are certainly not bulletproof, and hardly look more than somewhat impact resistant. Don’t think the tiny fan will stop bullet fragments, either.

Nathan May 23, 2017 at 01:39 pm

You know what has more gaps? The helmets we use now. Also.. bullet proof glasses? Yeah… Those don’t exist. Also the transferred energy won’t “turn your brain to mush” lol. There have been plenty of people to survive impacts to helmets. It’s a bullet not a fucking artillery blast.

Jager61 July 25, 2017 at 06:40 am

Looks great and is intimidating. Looks like it would work well in crowd control, as a psyops, or as sublimental to a vehicle operator. Vision looks way too limited to do building clearing and in a dusty environment those lenses?

Antonio July 31, 2018 at 12:43 am

Yeah really, “no one is going to comment” on the fantasy that “a direct hit would turn your brain to mush”? Are the people commenting on this all teenagers and pre-teens who also believe getting shot throws you up in the air and through a store front window?! That’s all Hollywood crap. Oh my and that’s, “just from transferred energy alone”, after getting hit in the face from an M1 Abrams Tank. Get a grip ‘Mucusdope’. Go shoot some real weapons and see what they can and can’t do. You’ll be much surprised.

nDjinn March 19, 2017 at 05:07 pm

I met the inventor just before they went to market and I actually asked him that directly. No real good answer. I asked, not as the energy from a bullet, but from any blunt weapon impact. I mean if you’re going all sci-if, but functional, you got to think it out. I was considering it just as a tactacool Halloween costume. They went to the trouble and expense to get a NIJ rating (really). Putting some accelerometers on it and hitting a baseball bat or during a ballistic test wouldn’t be all that hard. I also asked about a throat protector that would protect at least the front (like ye olde plate armor), but no. On your own for that too.

Nathan May 23, 2017 at 01:44 pm

How about they supply the whole fucking suit for you. They make masks and helmets and your upset because they didn’t include throat armor. A bullet impacting a helmet won’t necessarily cause your brain to turn to mush. Plenty of people have survived hits to the helmet. Shit our current helmets for nothing to protect the face currently and are only rated for indirect his and shrapnel. If you watch the video he states that a helmet like this isn’t for wearing around all the time. It’s specifically meant for clearing House and breaching

HM July 7, 2015 at 07:49 am

Not to bash or defend it as the development of a full ballistic helmet would be amazing for our troops and this is well on the right track. But do you guys even understand the ballistic ratings? It’s level 2A from what the majority of the articles I read are saying. A rifle bullet would ineed turn your brains into extra chunky soup, but that is right on lines with our kevlar helmets we are issues already (the big bulky dumb looking ones, not the low pro tacticool for the rooky recon as those have no true ballistic protection unless you are damn lucky). I shot an issued kevlar with a 7.62×39 ball round at 30 yards and it penetrated one side and caved the opposite. This stuff is all meant to stop glancing hits from small calibre rounds, spalling, fragmentations, etc. Just like the eye pro they use, it’s rated the same as ours… only ours is a pain to keep on your face. They have alot of kinks to work out but they are on the right track. Too many of our gunners caught shrapnel to the face and neck from I.E.D.s in Afghan, something like this would have made a huge difference… and it would scare the hell out of the locals too (but that’s just a bonus).

Donald Porras October 3, 2015 at 11:39 pm

How much for the helmet and where can I purchase one..

Ouija December 4, 2015 at 02:59 am

I played this game already, Army of Two? Even in that game they had the sense to make it one giant piece of steel, though don’t ask me how they had any peripheral.

Regardless, while it might be a good, first step, he clearly tried to address too many issues at once. He corrects himself in later posts saying it isn’t exactly bulletproof. While his kevlar/resin mix might be progressive, his design should be chucked back at the drawing board. Neodymium Magnets will jack up (no pun intended) any comm you have near your face, ANYTHING electrical will fail when it you need it the most, and having removable pieces that you can pry off by hand scares me. Even if it were resistant to 7.62 rounds, I’d have to keep picking my cheek out of the sand every time it took a hit?! Opfor would have a great new game to play. Because surely if a human hand can pry it free, I’m sure as hell something with 2k Jules will peel it from the frame.

Keep working at it; Devtac, that’s the difference between dreamers and visionaries.

Robert December 16, 2015 at 08:28 am

I would rather pick up pieces of my mask/helmet then my face or be dead..

Eddie Perez December 27, 2015 at 10:49 pm

I am interested in purchasing one of your ballistic mask/hamlets. Does your company offer police discount. Please forward me a price list and parts list. Thanks

Douglas January 7, 2016 at 08:27 am

D1 January 20, 2016 at 05:27 pm

Great gear…however…just give me a price and let me buy the thing! What’s all this other stuff? I plugged in “mask and helment” ..and I get 0 ! Are u gonna sell it or just talk about it ? Irritated

Kokoe February 7, 2016 at 11:49 am

Hey.I want to buy that helmet 1 piece.I’m finding in EBay but I didn’t found it.So how can I buy it?

Chad February 19, 2016 at 02:02 am

These are still in development stages, they introduced them at shot show from what I’ve heard. Also they are talking to veterans to see what kind of improvements to make to them. I’m not gonna lie, Im interested in these but I have my own concerns about aspects of them. Maybe in a few years they will have the kinks worked out, I’d like to see the plates atleast screwed in so if you take a round that portion could be replaced

Hunter005 February 24, 2016 at 08:45 pm

Hey I’m just looking to purchase the real deal please advise

Gerard March 26, 2016 at 09:22 pm

I feel like a motorcycle helmet would provide better protection if you add metal in a few places… Just saying

Miguel Raton August 8, 2017 at 11:09 am

No. Motorcycle helmets are designed to deform and absorb impact energy from blunt force impacts, saving the pink pudding between your ears from becoming just so much pink *literal* pudding! None of the discussion about this tacticool helmet so far has disclosed how much it *weighs*, and moto helmets at <3lbs are already too dang heavy [that's the primary difference between a sub-$100 helmet and a over-$500 one btw, how much less the latter weighs compared to the former, while still being able to do the job…] I suspect that there's a lot more work to be done on this before it is ready for prime time, but at least someone is leading the way.

ChromeAutofill March 30, 2016 at 08:50 pm

All these comments are so closed minded. Ya know when the computer was first created the CEO of IBM stated that there would be a world market for maybe five computers…. FIVE!!!! lol well we all see how wrong he was.
Look, this helmet may not be top notch now, but they’re on the right track. The most vulnerable places on the body are the head, heart and major arteries. Other than the head we’ve found great way to protect the other areas. I’ll tell you now, as an entry man on a law enforcement SWAT team, I like the idea of one day having a full helmet that is legitimately bullet resistant.
Just because it isn’t perfect now doesn’t mean that over time it won’t evolve to be an amazing piece of gear. And on a completely different note, it simply looks badass if nothing more. All I urge anyone to do is just take a minute and think of the possibilities before counting this thing out.

Blake Cyrus March 20, 2017 at 05:48 pm

Thank go someone with actual experience speaks with some sense! I know our gunners would have killed for something like this!

Miguel Raton August 8, 2017 at 11:14 am

Actually, the CEO was correct in that the 1st computers were the size of a house & much less functional than the freebie 4 function calculators the banks used to hand out in the ’80s & ’90s before everyone had one in their cell phone. His lack of vision was in failing to recognize that computers wouldn’t *stay* the size of a house, and that their functionality would improve faster than the technology shrinking their physical size. But aside from that, I agree with everything you say… ;-)

Makes a Badass motorcycle helmet

Daniel September 30, 2016 at 01:22 pm

Can you make a full helmet like yours, in replica of the dark knight

koonjar November 21, 2016 at 09:32 am

Do you need a tax stamp for those Glock stocks!!

Paully D November 22, 2016 at 04:54 pm

Does anyone know anyone else who has actually purchased one of these? They want a wired prepayment, and I’d imagine they want the rest wired too if you want your helmet, but doing that makes no guarantee that you will ever receive a helmet.

I can find no data or reviews of anyone who has purchased one. No testimonials, verifiable or not.

Eddie Villasenor November 24, 2016 at 12:45 pm

How much does it cost? Can you I had a respirator for chemical warfare

Gerard January 1, 2017 at 07:53 am

would like to know where to buy your product.

Scar January 2, 2017 at 12:30 am

I like the look not good for rifle men no stock weld capability would need eotec sight. however turret gunner would probably like them. I would rock this in close quarters urban room to room. juggernaut kill kill. it definitely would have a place on the battle field. in my opinion. why no hell the military invested in the MTV HESCO barrier type body armor maybe they will invest in this.

johnsmith June 2, 2018 at 01:01 pm

Cheek weld isn’t really necessary, Russians have been using high mount optics for decades and everyone in the west scoffed but now it’s picking up traction because you get a much less obscured view, more situational awareness and besides you’re not always going to be able to fire from a perfect cheek weld in real combat, plus you can use full face helmets which is the most relevant point to this article

(Ranger) George. Or Raymond J George January 5, 2017 at 10:17 pm

Please give me a call like to talk about your helmets as what we call 1st in the door the Tank maybe full helmet can be useful!

Kente Anthony April 25, 2018 at 08:45 pm

Where can I get one ot these helmets?

Stewart Tomkinson November 21, 2018 at 08:47 pm

I bought one a motorcycle helmet from Amazon was over $200 but the counselor one’s over to 1000

Ray February 16, 2019 at 01:47 pm

It actually is pretty bulletproof watch Demolition Ranch he shoots it and bullets do stop until he uses rifles.

Jim February 22, 2019 at 05:16 pm

I watched the Demolition Ranch video too. Amazing what the helmet can take. Still questionable for military use because of more rifle rounds used, but surely would still protect more than the shell helmet now in most cases.
But for law enforcement with common criminals mostly using pistols under 50AE, it would do the job perfectly.

Freddy March 28, 2019 at 10:20 pm

Where can i buy it from..
Interested

Kevin Mccullom June 14, 2020 at 06:41 am

I’m very much so interested I like to purchase this mask how much does it cost and I want one that’s really ballistic mask or should I say Bulletproof like the one that’s being shown to me exactly like this one

Kevin Mccullom June 14, 2020 at 06:42 am

I’m extremely interested in this man especially if it’s really a ballistic mask not a paint gun water sports mask
