It’s shocking to me that some idiot would actually point a gun directly at the heads of two girls because he was irritated. I also find it shocking that several people were casually milling around while he got even more and more irate, while pacing around with the gun. Even the vertical video camera man (it’s actually a girl taking the video) appears to be getting flagged at around 0:20. Lucky there was record of this incident though, because the douchebag with the gun (Xavier Amaya) is now in jail for the time being, charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault and battery.
*smh* some people’s kids. It’s interesting now that with the internet if Xavier gets out of jail and decides to not be a douchebag someday, a quick google search of his name is going to reveal screenshots and videos of this altercation. I’m guessing a lot of former criminals either just keep on being criminals, or else they change their names. I’m thinking out loud here… a criminal record check would definitely not be circumvented by the name change, but I’m guessing that name change could at least easily get you a job shoveling cement, cleaning truckstop bathrooms etc…
Thoughts? What would you have done if you were there with the camera man and were concealed carrying?

The issue with incidents like this is that they are usually sparking gun control debates within the gun community itself. Of course everybody wants to restrict idiots from having guns, but idiots have rights too. This is why firearms education is so important. Make the idiot understand that pulling a gun on someone has dire consequences. Only pull the gun with the intent to kill, dont toy around with it.
The bystanders should be armed too in my opinion, when he is looking down 5 other barrels he will think twice before pulling shit like this.
Morons like this are why I quit my job as a cop. This kind of thing happens all the time and I started wanting 95% of the population to just drink bleach.
One guy I sent to jail had his gun for less than 24 hours before he decided to point it at one of his friends during a flag football game over a disputed call. The whole time I was booking him in, he kept saying “it’s not illegal! I wasn’t going to shoot him!”. I don’t live in that town anymore but I heard that guy now has several children. We’re going to need more bleach.

I don’t know about where you are, but every where I’ve been, this is not the “new norm”. The new norm is, however, getting exposed to these types of things more often, thanks to instantaneous data transmissions.
Probably shouldve clarified I didnt mean pistol whipping and the gun in the face as part of the norm, but people acting a complete fool in public and thinking that shenanigans like this are ok. Granted, maybe I havent been enough places, but this reminded me immediately of Arlington, TX.
