Shot Fired Puts Speed Hole In Pants At Waldorf Astoria In NYC

ROFL this guy has an elusive NYC carry permit even:

Vladimir-Gotlibovsky-Waldorf-Astoria-Hotel-NYC

Two Russian brothers were charged Sunday in the bizarre shooting at a fancy wedding party at the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel over the weekend.  The lavish affair turned bloody Saturday evening when Vladimir Gotlibovsky’s gun accidentally went off and the bullet grazed the head of a female guest, officials said.

Sources said Vladimir Gotlibovsky, 42, was packing the legal 9mm Ruger in his right pants pocket when he got sloshed during the cocktail hour for the Brighton Beach couple and his gun accidentally discharged.

Full story – NY POST and Here

Whoops.  As you can see the gun is a Ruger LC9.  Lucky he wasn’t carrying .45 or 10mm, because he would have lost his leg and there would be a crater in the Waldorf marble.

Sounds like law enforcement is really trying to throw the book at everyone involved, which is surprising considering they are rich.  I’m assuming mainly they are pissed off at the attempted coverup.  If the guy just would have stood there and owned it, rather than dry to dump the gun off to someone while he’s standing there with the new speed hole in his trousers, he’d probably be better off.

Thoughts?

$25-35 would’ve saved him a whole mess of trouble.

Yea no kidding!!!

JohnnyIShootStuff June 17, 2015 at 03:21 am

A .45 wouldn’t have just taken off his leg, it would have killed his soul.

If you don’t use a holster, you deserve a speed hole. Pocket holsters are really cheap. Also, don’t drink and carry!

Doyletoo June 17, 2015 at 04:20 am

Look on his face is priceless. Only slightly better than the cop who looks like he highly pissed. I’m guessing he got an earful when he went to put the cuffs on: (in a bad FPS Russia voice) No, officer is not necessary. Was accident, so ok! I can buy tickets to officers ball and you can leave, no?

Followed by some choice words once the cuffs went on I’m sure…

Um…HOWDAFUX can a fat rich Russkie carry in NYC but dudes that served in a Ranger Regiment or whatever would always get denied.

I KNOW money is a factor but still…..no justice in this godless world

You heard that the VA is the number 1 reporter on recommending people not be allowed firearms to the ATF, right? Simply by asking that a spouse is present while they explain your benefits has been enough to get reported as mentally deficient and not allowed to own a firearm.

People willing to serve and risk giving their lives for this country are considered dangerous nut-cases by government bureaucrats and this administration.

Definitely no justice. It’s sickening.

I hate this kind of shit. I’m a new firearms enthusiast and do carry. Becoming interested in firearms as an older guy means I didn’t grow up hunting or being raised by a parent who shoots… I get why good people get all uppity about other good people who concealed carry. It really hurts us all when stupid people who carry legally make a mistake like this. Carry responsibly.

Whoa… This is actually really surprising to me… I cant believe that Ruger LC9 actually fired. Cop looking like ” YOU FUCKING GOING TO JAIL, CRAIG.”

When did the NYC PD start using Sigs?

Carl June 17, 2015 at 06:26 am

I think they have a choice…Sigs or Colts

JoelC June 17, 2015 at 06:29 am

No glocks?

Hashtagbutt June 17, 2015 at 10:06 pm

I heard some where glocks were ditched because a few officers had inoperable slides and one for sure was missing his front sight post and I think one had a broken trigger so they were pretty much like fuck that lol, and when the fuck did nypd start responding to shots fired calls without a vest on looks to me the officers shirt is to large and it didn’t look as though he’s wearing a vest and if he is its inproperly fitted

GuruOGuns June 17, 2015 at 08:15 am

I thought they pretty much settled on NY trigger Glawks, you know 82 rounds and still didn’t hit shit.

Jason June 17, 2015 at 08:16 am

Im so tired of this journalistic malpractice bullshit. The gun just didnt accidentally go OFF. The dumbass was fondling it in his pocket and PULLED THE TRIGGER. Pretty sure its a little more than a 1.5 lb trigger on those guns.

KestrelBike June 17, 2015 at 11:23 am

^^^^ This, not to mention that the guy is a rich dude (owns a NYC taxi fleet) allegedly has a criminal record that should have prevented both of his carry permits (he’s got a business permit as well as a residential permit)

ENDO-Mike June 17, 2015 at 03:45 pm

I agree… But as far as they are concerned “go off” is just a synonym for “shot”. They really need to learn the difference though I agree.

I remember that you guys posted an entry on this site about a Turkish jewelry store owner failing to chamber a round during an armed robbery. You used the video from the incident to mock advocates of condition 3 carry. Yet when someone has an accidental discharge due to carrying their firearm with a loaded chamber, you guys don’t admit that you’re dangerously retarded for advocating that the masses should carry firearms with loaded chambers.

GG

Joey Jojo Jr. June 21, 2015 at 01:26 am

Say it with us slowly: “A pistol with a loaded chamber should be carried only in a holster that covers the trigger guard.” There you go. I knew you could.

Having said that…his guy was playing with the fucking gun, OK?

You can’t accidentally press the trigger on a Ruger LC-series just by reaching in your pocket and fishing out some breath mints. It takes some poundage and direction to do the deed.

Joey Jojo Jr. June 21, 2015 at 01:23 am

NYPD’s always running their suck about “most professional”, etc…but they still issue some of the shittiest looking, lowest-bidder duty belts and holsters.

And how bout that 13.5 pound trigger? WINNING!
