Birmingham, AL – The teacher was apparently teaching his geometry students about parallel lines and angles, officials said. He used the example of where to stand and aim if shooting Obama.

“He was talking about angles and said, ‘If you’re in this building, you would need to take this angle to shoot the president,’ ” said Joseph Brown, a senior in the geometry class.

Efforts to reach the teacher for comment Monday were unsuccessful.

Superintendent Phil Hammonds said the teacher remains at work, and there are no plans for termination.

Are you shitting me? Wow, and they don’t plan to fire him either.  Seems like a huge liability to let this tool teach kids ever again.

Can you imagine if instead, a student had a notebook with “assassination” calculations in it?!?! Talk about a double standard.

Guns, Drugs, Violence, Foul Language, and Elementary School don’t exactly go hand in hand. It’s surprising that the parents of these kids actually thought doing a Scarface play was acceptable:

What’s more disturbing is that the acting actually isn’t bad.  The kids must have watched the actual movie quite carefully in order to research their roles.

Here is the actual end of Scarface for comparison:

I can’t think of a less kid-friendly movie to make a play about.

Birmingham, AlabamaA  man angry at his girlfriend fired 15 rounds at her Monday night.

Stephen Gafford, 43, missed but some of the bullets hit too close for comfort. Investigators recovered seven .22-caliber projectiles from the lining of the woman’s purse, said Jefferson County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Randy Christian.

The victim, whose name wasn’t released, went to the sheriff’s Forestdale substation to report the assault. She told authorities she and her boyfriend got into an argument about him smoking crack.

He began punching her in the face, and then opened fire with a rifle. Her purse was slung over her shoulder when it was peppered with the seven shots.

She got away and went to the substation.

Gafford is charged with attempted murder and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the county jail on $26,000 bond.

Wow sounds like an outstanding guy.  No I did not photoshop his picture.

The article says he used a .22 caliber rifle,  so it’s probably safe to assume it was the ubiquitous .22LR rimfire cartridge.  Even so, it must have been a thick purse!  I’ve shot through some fairly strong stuff with .22LR.

That goon deserves everything bad coming his way.  Glad to hear his girlfriend is unscathed; I hope she has enough sense to leave him after this incident.
