armed forces

Vice will be reporting on Arts in the Armed Forces:

Bringing thought-provoking and impactful contemporary theater to US soldiers. That’s the mission of Arts in the Armed Forces, a non-profit organization started by Marine-turned-actor Adam Driver (Girls, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). VICE News followed Driver and his fellow actors (including Joanne Tucker, Natasha Lyonne, Eric Bogosian, Peter Scolari, Sasheer Zamata, and many more) as they performed for military audiences in the US and overseas who more accustomed to visits by country cover bands and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

0:28 – She was EXCELLENT in OITNB (Orange Is The New Black).  I did NOT like the latest season of that show though… very disappointing.

Dog-Puppy-Military-Browning-M2Interesting.  Well as long as military members are entertained by this, and it takes their minds off their most likely non-ideal situation overseas then I say great!  If you don’t like it I’m assuming you don’t have to go.  Maybe that’s not how the military works though?  Do you get told to go watch this and have “mandatory fun” even if you don’t want to? haha

I’m not one to hang out in the bathroom longer than I have to, but for those that do:

Uncle John takes aim at providing the heroic, historic, and entertaining stories of America’s five armed forces: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Read about:

  • A history of the draft
  • Dog tags then and now
  • Medal of Honor winners
  • MASH: the true story
  • Doolittle’s Raid
  • What it takes to pass the tests to be in the Special Forces
  • Cartoon soldiers—Sad Sack, Sergeant Rock, and Beetle Bailey
  • Start of Semper Fi
  • The original Flying Tiger
  • War (TV) is hell
  • The birth of camoflauge and khaki
  • And much more!

Don’t let the name fool you though.  It’s perfectly acceptable to read this book outside of the bathroom. I’d suggest picking one or the other though, cause both is gross and unsanitary if you ask me.

You can purchase it for $13 on Amazon – HERE

And a social perspective is what they got? *scratches head*:

Seriously, how do people even dream up messed up crap like that? Do they have a wheel at home with random words like “blood bag”, “rifle parts”, “child’s underwear”, amputee etc.. on it?  WTF…

An interview with the “artist” – HERE

Looks like the armed forces got more than they bargained for hehe. According to the article they were so shocked by what Traavik came up with that they took it off display when the Russian president visited norway.
