Australian Olympic Swimmers pose with some guns and put it on facebook.  CRIKEY did the S ever HTF in Australia after that…

Ok.. the very first line in the article already has me pissed off:

The pair smiled and looked smug as they handled automatic pistols and pump-action shot guns similar to those used in the Port Arthur massacre.

And “Swimming Australia” demanded Kenrick Monk remove the picture.

Oh but it gets better…

D’Arcy was pictured holding semi-automatic pistols, similar to those used by Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui.

And..

Australian Olympic team boss Nick Green said the photo was foolish.

So let me get this straight… Two Australian guys pose with guns INSIDE A GUN SHOP IN THE UNITED STATES… and get torn a new one for posting a picture of it?  And on top of it all get compared to two killers in a couple of the worst firearm related massacres the world has seen to date.

If that’s what Australia is like, i’m glad I was never planning on visiting there.  I don’t know if these guys have any legal recourse… but they should look into bankrupting the Australian Herald Sun for printing such bullshit.

Thoughts?

This guy is the Australian Nickleback of crappy songs about firearms:

Wow that was corny and useless.   Please tell me Steve doesn’t make “music” full time.

The only good part was when the trucker showed him a Hi-point and asked if he had ever seen one.

So is Steve living, or god forbid touring in the U.S. now?  Or is he back in his homeland showing up people’s knives with a bigger ones, putting shrimps on barbies, and avoiding stingrays?

Check out my thoughts on Steve Lee’s other videos if you care.

On this new track/video “Life is Good”:

I say it all the time, Hickok45 is the man!   Him teaming up with Steve Lee though, is basically comparable to Al Pacino and Pee Wee Herman making a movie together.

Unless you want to hear Steve Lee’s predictably poor lyrics and the same basic song composition he always has, just put the video on mute and enjoy the shooting in HD.

Either step your game up, or retire:

Skip to 50 seconds if you don’t want to hear someone say “lord” what seems like about 50 times in a lengthy prayer.

The video was filmed at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot this past fall.   Long time followers of this blog might remember that I’m not a fan of Steve Lee (see HERE and HERE).  Just when I thought the music and lyrics couldn’t get any worse, he pulls this preachy lil’ number out of his ass.

He looks like a small guy, but for the love of god lean into it when you’re shooting.  The recoil is making him its bitch so many times throughout the video…

Any Australians that could provide some insight into how he has some of those guns?

I thought guns were highly restricted and auto ones effectively banned in Australia after the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, but then I saw that music video.

Wikipedia lists all the Australian firearms categories, notably this one:

Category R/E: restricted weapons: machine guns, rocket launchers, assault rifles, flame-throwers, anti-tank guns, Howitzers, artillery, .50-calibre BMG weapons, etc. (Collectors in some states only, weapons must be comprehensively deactivated. Deactivated firearms are still subject to the same storage and licensing requirements as ‘live’ firearms in many states.)
Source – HERE

The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA) makes no mention of the R/E category anyone on their website – HERE

Another thing that I found odd in the music video was that Steve fly’s somewhere, presumably in Australia (because of the Right Hand Drive car) to purchase that car to shoot up.  But he pays with US currency… is that commonplace in Australia?  Maybe that last part with the automatic weapons and the rocket launchers was filmed here in the U.S.?

Black Labrador “Sabi” was recovered by a US Soldier at an isolated patrol base in Oruzgan Province, after going missing in the same September 2008 battle during which Trooper Mark Donaldson, VC earned his Victoria Cross.

An Australian Special Forces explosive detection dog has been found alive and well more than a year after she went missing in action in Afghanistan.

Considering she was missing for over a year, it would be awesome if she could provide any valuable Intel (scooby doo style) to the SAS. :P
