A movie about gun control and politics:

Wow that looks boring and embarrassing.  It’s not doing TOO terrible on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, so I might watch it someday if any of you guys says it’s alright.  I watched 13 hours tonight (finally), and enjoyed that.

From the director:

“We didn’t offer the script to the Brady Campaign, we didn’t offer the script to any Second Amendment groups,” director John Madden said when I asked if he had consulted with the NRA or other gun rights groups when making the film. “We didn’t want the film being adopted by one side or the other of the argument, because it isn’t a polemic. … I don’t think — the film is not political in its intent. It’s political in its milieu and it’s political in its, you know, the background of the story. But it’s more about political process to me.”

Full article on the Washington Post.  In theaters now.

Thoughts?  Any of you guys see this yet?  Looks like another lame money grab because “guns are so hot right now”.  The old throw shit at the wall and see what sticks approach seems to work decent for making money in Hollywood if you have lots of money.

Oh Brady Law… you so crazy:

I love how they are taking credit for all the false positives in the background check system.

0:47 – Oh noEs.. gun show loophole!

Brady-Campaign-Ban-Assault-ClipsIt’s really awesome how naive they are, like if congress actually all of the sudden demanded background checks on ALL GUN SALES the criminals would be like “Oh damn, I guess we can’t buy guns anymore… that’s really going to put a damper on our livelihood”.

Brady Campaign wants a background check on ALL gun sales:

I’m so offended that the bad guy is white.  Why couldn’t they have made him purple or blue or something? haha

Brady-Campaign-Ban-Assault-ClipsWe all know if congress passed a law to make criminals having guns illegal, there would be zero gun crime by criminals.  That’s obviously how it works right?  I mean, what criminal in his right mind would actually break the law to get a gun?

MrColionNoir takes a look:

When MrColionNoir and I aren’t going toe to toe on bird law, he’s makes videos with solid points in them.

MrColionNoir-Defend-Freedom-Tshirt-ENDOI never gave much of a shit about these fly-by-night anti gun groups.  Sure some of them have been around for a while, but it’s only the ones like MAIG (Mayors Against Illegal Guns) which have heavy hitters funding to back them that end up not disappearing.  The Brady Campaign To Prevent Gun Violence is another one that’s been around for a long time, but always seems to be in dire need of money.  Like he mentioned in the video, it’s deceptive how these organizations are name… “against illegal guns” and “preventing gun violence” seem like two worthy causes until you look at what these organizations actually want to do, and that’s always take away the rights of people like you and I.

  1. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
  2. Gun laws affect only law-abiding citizens.
  3. When more households have guns for self-defense, crime goes down.
  4. In high-crime urban neighborhoods, guns are as easy to get as fast food.
  5. Repealing Chicago’s handgun ban will dramatically increase gun crimes.

Of course the Brady Campaign agrees with every word of it – HERE

It would probably be a cold day in hell if we ever got something similar in the U.S..  The off chance that that ever happens here, I’d send Paul Helmke from the Brady Campaign a friendly letter wishing him well in his futile efforts.
