Colorado State Senator Jessie Ulibarri solves the problem:

High-Capacity-Ballpoint-Pen

My only question is, are high capacity ballpoint pens allowed?  You know, those rotating ones with the different colors (pictured above)?  Is there a limit on the number of pens that can go into the chamber? What about tactical pens?  Can they have pocket clips on them?  I’ve got so many more questions….

It’s just safer if everyone has pens… no “crossfire” of random irresponsible people shooting at the shooter. *eye roll*

Thoughts?

Apparently these “fans” that went to her concert there haven’t been following her that closely:

Madonna’s second act at her show Thursday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver featured the 54-year-old singer using a fake gun to shoot a masked gunman and images of blood splattering on a large screen behind the stage. She used the set for her performances in other cities for the song “Gang Bang,” which includes the lyrics “shot my lover in the head.”

Full story over at the NYPost.

You can check out this video to see what they were so upset about.  The particular clip I linked is from a Las Vegas show, but it’s the same song.

The article is full of derp, including one paragraph that quotes Denver sports radio personality Peter Burns saying “It sort of hits closer to home for me” when asked to describe how he felt about the imagery at the concert considering he lost a friend in the Aurora theater shooting.   Really?  Seeing Madonna do her dumb shit on stage made you finally put things in perspective?  *smh*  whatever.

You might remember a couple other times I posted about her guns on stage, one being in the controversy it created in Israel, and the other being a boring rant about how she uses guns as a metaphor which she posted on her blog.

She’s 54.  You’d think by now she would be done with pissing people off, and leave it to the younger ones in the business.

Thoughts?

Good news for the Colorado man convicted of illegally possessing two handguns in New Jersey.

Gov. Chris Christie commuted Aitken’s sentence, from seven years to time served, according to an order the governor signed today. (Source)

Glad to see common sense prevailed.

In New Jersey, a person must have a purchaser’s permit and a carry permit to have a handgun in his or her car.  As a result of not having either, Colorado resident Brian Aitken is now doing 7 years in a state prison.

Brian was trying to get his life back on track two years ago when he moved back to New Jersey from Colorado to be closer to his young son and estranged wife. But on Jan. 2, 2009, his mood darkened when his planned visit with his son was canceled at the last minute. His mother, concerned for his safety, called the police, and when the police located him, they searched his car and found two locked and unloaded handguns in the trunk.

Is Brian Aitken a criminal? I suppose by definition he is because he broke the law.

I’ve mentioned on here before what I think about laws like that.  There are too many of them, they are convoluted, and they do nothing but punish and restrict people are are not criminals.

The worst is how he got caught… I bet his mom feels terrible. Moms are gonna worry though, you need to mitigate the damage and call the lady with a status update from time to time.

It really seems like there is a year to year competition in this country to see how many people we can lock up for random bullshit.  It’s getting tiring.

Thanks for the email Jeremy W!

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado. – Police officers are investigating a bizarre crime spree that started after a man reportedly got mad over a Wii game.Witnesses told police a man went after several people in the Meadows Mobile Home Park with a bat, bit his mother on the ankle, intentionally rammed several cars, and hit a pedestrian and a tree.

When the victims followed the driver, after a short distance he stopped, got out of his car and allegedly used a BB gun to break out the rear window of a vehicle, according to the police report.

That guy is just straight NUTS.  From the picture in the linked article, looks like the police might have drove his face into the ground. No doubt he was probably fighting them even after he got tasered.

I wonder if he shot at the vehicle to break the window, or he he used the BB gun itself to smash the window? I haven’t shot my BB gun in a long time, but I don’t remember it being that powerful.  I suppose BB gun technology possibly has come a long way.
