criminal

Intended for animals:

Hopefully they come out with a cartridge to fire gas (a la Darkwing duck).  As long as it’s gluten free, no GMO gas though.. wouldn’t want to hurt the criminal in the short or long-term.  This is a catch / rehabilitate / release type thing we’re doing remember?  Try and keep up guys. ;)

I always wanted to fire a net out of a gun at something… oh and a grappling hook!  I bet climbing up walls looks easier than it actually is though.

Net gun pricing starts at $1400 over at the Wildlife Capture website.   Aaaaaccckkkkkkk bullets are so much cheaper!  Also with a decently placed shot from a gun you’re completely avoiding potential net gun problems like dealing with a lawsuit when the criminal you captured takes you to court seeking damages for the net burn and emotional trauma. Mo’ net mo’ problems.

net-gunThoughts?

Dat metal on metal action sound:

A simple but powerful message.

The video is from the same guy that brought us Tactical Magic and The Future Of California Firearm Control.  Glad to see he’s back.

Ugh what can I say about Britney Spears that’s hasn’t already been said about herpes:

There was some controversy in London where it was filmed.   Not because the song and video is a piece of shit, but because of the gun use in it (huge surprise).

The amount of product placement in the video is astonishing.   What a complex story line too… boyfriend is a dick and gets punched out by a “criminal” (obligatory greasy hair, knuckle tattoos, huge back; neck and chest tattoos) who Britney decides to shack up with.

Weapons control systems are designed to detect and deny entry to unauthorized people carrying weapons into secure areas.

From NovaComm, one of the leading manufactures of these systems:

The access control system consists of a bullet resistant aluminum frame enclosed by bullet resistant glass, and a bullet resistive ceiling. The frame is divided into two separate compartments: one for entry and one for exit. Passage through each compartment is controlled by a set of two intercommunicating doors. Entry doors and exit doors are totally separate systems. Control of the doors is achieved through the use of exit devices, magnetic locks, infrared sensors, and a metal detector.

NovaComm’s Access Control Vestibule can distinguish between magnetic, non-magnetic and mixed alloys weapons.

One of my blog followers, Israel, sent me the following pictures from his local bank (University Credit Union) in Miami, FL:

And a closeup of the sign:

Israel, who is a concealed weapons permit (CWP) holder is not impressed with this recent “upgrade”, and decided to write the bank president a letter (viewable here).

My guess is that systems like these are a fairly good deterrent to crime.  But at what cost?

The reality is that just because “metal” guns and weapons are not allowed in the bank, doesn’t mean there are not countless other ways for a criminal to wreak havoc inside of a bank. Composite knives, bats, knunchucks, chemical weapons, leather whips, a pool ball in a sock … the Glock 7 (I kid about that one)

I know the bank is considered private property, and we all have the choice whether or not we want to deal with places like this. The easiest thing to do I suppose is just switch banks if you don’t like their policies.  It’s too bad it has to come to that sometime in order to stay safe.

Thanks Israel!

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s are are literate you likely remember the “Choose Your Own Adventure” series of books.  Well the London Metropolitan Police who’s motto is “Working together for a safer London” has put out a bunch of videos using the same style, with the topic being scenarios involving carrying knives in the UK:

Pretty hilarious how bad their laws are there. Most of the scenarios set out in the videos are pretty laughable and unrealistic too.

According to their promo website DropTheWeapons.org, “Picking up a gun or a knife always makes a situation worse never better.” …. Good to know! seems I learn something new every day *rolls eyes*.

And like needed another reason to never visit the UK, they have something there referred to as “Joint Enterprise“, which sounds pretty ridiculous.

If you are still looking for more UK related LOLz, check out the posts I did on Starter Pistols and Knife Surrender Bins.

From me to the London Metro Police: Keep on keeping London safe guys.  I hear it’s a crime-free utopia there hahah

Mostafa Mohammad, the manager of a Chicago cell phone store says it was just instinct that prompted him to spring into action and fight off an armed robber Tuesday evening.

Full Story – HERE

Oh Chicago, you always provide me with such good material.

When I saw this video I thought *FINE, I guess disarms sometimes DO work*.  Thank god the bullet didn’t hit anything important when the gun went off.

I love when people flip it on the criminals.
