An Armalite ad ended up exposing that Italy can’t take a joke:

Armalite-Michelangelo-David-Rifle

Italy’s cultural minister said the following in a tweet:

The image of David, armed, offends and infringes the law. We will take action against the American company so that it immediately withdraws its campaign.

Michelangelo’s David is SERIUS BIZNUSZ guise.  I’d be more concerned that shooting that rifle naked and prone could cause some major chafing.

Thoughts?  Are ‘shops like this are illegal in the US too?  Could I photoshop ENDO Apparel shirts on Mt. Rushmore and still be within the law?

Retired Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio, the former head of the Rhode Island National Guard, gave 8-year-old David Morales a medal called a challenge coin during an appearance on WPRO-AM’s John DePetro show.

Centracchio said the second-grader should be thanked for recognizing veterans and soldiers.

“You did nothing wrong, and you did an outstanding job,” he said. “We can only hope that kids of your caliber will continue to defend this country.”

Centracchio also gave David a certificate that allows him to call himself a brigadier general.

Nice!  Glad to see someone stepped up to the plate and thanked this kid.

Too bad David will probably be expelled from school now though because he now officially holds a high ranking position in the military according to the certificate he was given. I wonder if the O-7 pay comes with it?  That would buy a lot of toys. :P

Providence, RI – Christan Morales said her son David just wanted to honor American troops when he wore a hat to school decorated with an American flag and small plastic Army figures.

But the school banned the hat because it ran afoul of the district’s zero-tolerance weapons policy. Why? The toy soldiers were carrying tiny guns.

Stories like this just give me a headache. I can’t believe the collective amount of time this incident seems to have already wasted for everyone involved.

Why do some people feel it is alright to make kids feel like crap over something so trivial. Poor guy.

El Mirage, AZ –  Police arrested a man on suspicion of endangerment when the gun he was carrying fired, launching a bullet into a store’s ceiling early Thursday morning, officials said.

At one point, a clerk working the electronics section told police that Walter took the gun out of its holster and then removed and replaced the gun’s magazine. The woman feared she was about to be robbed and notified the store manager.

Damn I hate when guns decide to shoot by themselves when you’re handling them.

Who the hell handles their gun in public for no reason, and expects it not to cause alarm?

Video of the incident – HERE

Why does he try to force his way into the locked video game case, and then go behind the employee counter?  Pretty shady…

Doesn’t look like an accident to me,  I don’t foresee the judge taking any pity on him.

I wouldn’t call those 6 people “victims” since no damage was actually done.

I wonder what these two will be charged with? Attempted murder for her?  What for him,  Some sort of accessory charge?

He’s going to be regretting that one for a while, considering all he apparently did was cock the gun.
