18 .22 LR Rounds BUZZIN out the front:

Damn I almost forgot about those things!  Last I blogged about a .22LR beehive / hornet’s nest adapter was back in October 2009.  Some of you guys probably weren’t even born yet.  I say that half joking, but I also know from IG that I do have some very young fans.  Do any of them read the blog though?  I feel like if I asked one of them, they would be like “haha a blog?  OK BOOMER… 😂”

3:34 – Accuracy is trash, and the rounds keyholed as expected from the little short non rifled barrels.  He mentions there is also a rifled version called a “dirty dozen” (12 rifled barrels in it).  I’d buy that off the name alone.. too good.

4:58 – Cool footage of him shooting the high velocity rounds.  They actually patterned a lot better too.  Probably because the rounds are higher quality.  I remember for years and years I only used to shoot Winchester 555 bulk packs, then once I got older I was like “maybe I should try out some more expensive .22LR for the heck of it, see how it compares?”.  Night and day difference in every aspect, from care taken in making the bullets themselves to the accuracy you get out of them.

7:52 – haha the chalk round looks so badass flying through the air.  I like how he said you can 3D print your own refills.

I googled the Hunting4Connections thing he had set up at the bottom of the screen.  Their tagline is “The online dating solution for people who live an Outdoor Lifestyle.“.. honestly I’m not mad at it.  Seems like a great idea, as long as there’s a way to filter out girls who wear RealTree + ride horses + like hunting… that’s 3 of 4 solid components to make up a life ruiner.  I’m just looking out for you fellas.

Thoughts?  I hadn’t heard of this Going Ballistic guy before Tom sent me him.  Looking at his past vids, he basically a non-annoying version of Edwin Sarkissian.  Looks like the rest of the world hasn’t caught on yet though because Going Ballistic is currently sitting at 93700 subs compared to Edwin’s 3.59 million.

Seattle Police said they recovered a grenade launcher and automatic weapons in their Thursday night raid of a house in Eastlake. Officers found two AR-15 assault rifles, one of which was equipped with a military style grenade launcher.

Good work guys… *slow clap* I know i’ll sleep better tonight knowing a recreational firework launcher is off the streets.

Blog reader Sean D. took it upon himself to deliver an email smackdown to reporter Jim Forman from KING5 news.  Here it is:

This aptly named adapter known as the “beehive” or “hornet’s nest” allows you to load up to 10 .22LR cartridges, and (inserting one large pistol primer) fire them all through the little rifled steel barrels with one pull of the trigger on your 40mm grenade launcher.  40mm grenade launchers are considered destructive devices, and require a $200 tax stamp.

40mm chalk rounds and smoke rounds are readily available, but it’s the destructive ammo for them is hard to find, and VERY expensive.  AutoWeapons.com is selling M576 40mm buckshot rounds for $125 each and on top of that each destructive round also requires a paid tax stamp.  This beehive / hornet’s nest contraption seems like it would be great for practice, not to mention cheaper to run considering a box of 500 .22LR is around $20.

The major downside is that the adapter is $595 ( HERE on AutoWeapons.com ) but if your a 40mm fan, what you spend on this adapter you’ll make up for in ammo savings in a very short time.

I’d like to see one of these made for 37mm launchers, because they are not considered destructive devices!
