FPS

Pinning the greatest foreveralone FPS derps against one another in epic on and off screen competitions:

The greatest tag line I can think of would be “The only game these guys have… is onscreen”.

Isn’t FPSrussia’s 15 minutes up yet?  The guy has shot every gun known to man and blew up a zillion pounds of tannerite.  Know when to quit bro.

“The Controller” (which the video is a trailer for) starts today (Sept 20th).

Medal of Honor Warfighter won’t be out until October 23rd.  If you want it in hand quick after that date though make sure to pre-order a copy on Amazon.

Thoughts?

Freddiew gives it a shot:

Pretty decent job, but their videos are definitely becoming more and more pointless.

I wonder if they are doing a lot of paid work now, and don’t have much time for these free YouTube vids that got them to where they are today?

People put a lot of work into these:

The Simpsons map for Quake III Arena:

Counterstrike Source The Office map:

I searched youtube to see if there was a custom map for Full House.  Sadly there doesn’t appear to be one…

In the role of war correspondent (‘warco’) Jesse DeMarco, the player must capture battle footage and edit together a news story, while trying to make it out alive.

WARCO lets players shoot and record what they see ‘through the lens’ – framing shots, panning and zooming, grabbing powerful images of combatants and civilians caught up in war. They’ve got AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades – you’ve got a flak jacket, a video camera, and a burning desire to get the story.

Definitely a new idea… but pretty lame if you ask me.

What’s next an FPR game? First person reloading, where I don’t shoot, but just reload spent brass. “Dude you HAVE to see the level where I tumble the brass.  It’s so sick!  I feel like I’m there.”

I suck so bad at “new” video games, but I want to try this simulator out so bad:

I mentioned this simulator in the past, but the entire episode wasn’t out online at that point in all its UK glory.  Who wears white glasses?  That guy looks like a next level tool.

The roller treadmill looks like it works awesome!

I can’t believe they used that retarded “app blaster” gun… pretty sad when you’re spending so much money on the rest of the experience.

Some multiplayer gameplay footage:

An INSANE $650,000 simulator built to play the game:

A four by nine meter video dome surrounds the player as they stand on an omni-directional treadmill that lets you walk wherever you want to go. Ten infra-red motion tracking cameras and a sensor on your gun enables the picture to follow where you point it and a Kinect hack controls your jumping and crouching. The fun doesn’t stop there — 12 paintball markers mean that every time you get shot in the game, you’ll feel it.

Nuts… lots more pictures and info over at Engadget.

FPS simulators still have a long way to go, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.   Thoughts?
