halo

This is awesome:

From the same guys who made the Predator hand blades!

1:41 – Whenever I see a torch of any type, even on screen I always have a quick reaction to turn away.  My eyes are very sensitive to light, and I thought I messed them up a few times by accident.

Halo-Gravity-Hammer3:00 – At 5+ feet high, and with all this metal I can already tell this thing is going to be deadly heavy.  Note: toward the end of the video when it’s completed it’s actually 6′ high and 100 lbs haha.

6:40 – Meh.  I liked the way it looked in raw metal too.  Now it looks like plastic, but I guess that’s true to the look in the game.

7:19 – Ok ok it actually does look pretty cool in this shot.

7:23 – These dudes are going to hurt their wrists / backs haha.

COMMENT

Apparently M$ was quite irritated that this existed, piggy backing on the popularity of their HALO franchise:

Liberty-Ammunition-Halo-Point

Liberty Ammunition removed all mention of HALO from their website, rebranding the ammunition simply as “civil-defense” now.

If you wanted to get some for your collection though, Midway USA still has some 9mm +P for $20 per box.

There’s a huge article on this ammunition over at Kotaku you can check out for more information.

Thoughts?

HALO Jump:

UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle):

Pretty neat videos.  Seems like Richard Ryan is trying a bit harder now to be likable, which is nice to see.  He used to be pretty obnoxious.

I’d like to own, or at least play with a high-end UAV someday. HALO jumping, or skydiving in general I really have no desire to ever try.

He will muzzle sweep you, take your gun, and generally revel in ruining your day:

Freddiew needs to come out with that full length film.  I heard he was working on one a while back called “Video Game Highschool”, i’m not sure what their progress on that is though, but it will supposedly be released the beginning of 2012.  They raised over a ~$274,000 on Kickstarter which is very impressive.   These little clips are usually pretty well done, but they definitely are running out of good ideas.

I originally built this rifle for a costume because I wanted something that would look nicely detailed compared to the relative simplicity of the suit. Originally it was just a silver nerf recon but over time I started to customize it as the suit was upgraded and made more complicated. I decided to keep all the functionality of the nerf gun to give me something to show off. (cocking, loading, etc) This project has been on and off for about 2 years now. I occasionally touched it up here and there and added some more detailing.

Pretty awesome!

Some details on how he built it – HERE

I really like the demonstration video too.  Nice touch with the HALO style heads up display and music.

No matter what online first person shooter game you play, whether it be HALO, Modern Warfare 2, etc… You are always going to have to deal with campers.

By definition, a camper just sits at one spot in the game map and waits around for another player just so they can kill them.  This happens on ALL online first person shooter games, and can get very irritating.

Some might say it’s good strategy, which may be true… but it takes the fun out of playing.

The one good thing is that once you get killed by a camper once, it lots of times gives away their position so you can go kill them.  If they are a habitual camper though, unfortunately they will most likely just go back to the same spot, or else find another spot to set up camp.

Hilarity ensues in games like Modern Warfare 2, where the users can have on mics and talk to one another.

What are your thoughts on campers?
