Madonna

Apparently these “fans” that went to her concert there haven’t been following her that closely:

Madonna’s second act at her show Thursday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver featured the 54-year-old singer using a fake gun to shoot a masked gunman and images of blood splattering on a large screen behind the stage. She used the set for her performances in other cities for the song “Gang Bang,” which includes the lyrics “shot my lover in the head.”

Full story over at the NYPost.

You can check out this video to see what they were so upset about.  The particular clip I linked is from a Las Vegas show, but it’s the same song.

The article is full of derp, including one paragraph that quotes Denver sports radio personality Peter Burns saying “It sort of hits closer to home for me” when asked to describe how he felt about the imagery at the concert considering he lost a friend in the Aurora theater shooting.   Really?  Seeing Madonna do her dumb shit on stage made you finally put things in perspective?  *smh*  whatever.

You might remember a couple other times I posted about her guns on stage, one being in the controversy it created in Israel, and the other being a boring rant about how she uses guns as a metaphor which she posted on her blog.

She’s 54.  You’d think by now she would be done with pissing people off, and leave it to the younger ones in the business.

It’s true there is a lot of violence in the beginning of the show and sometimes the use of fake guns – but they are used as metaphors.

I do not condone violence or the use of guns.

Rather they are symbols of wanting to appear strong and wanting to find a way to stop feelings that I find hurtful or damaging. In my case its wanting to stop the lies and hypocrisy of the church, the intolerance of many narrow minded cultures and societies I have experienced throughout my life and in some cases the pain I have felt from having my heart broken.

A few paragraphs more over on her blog if you’re not already bored to tears.

She’s always been big into shock value, and this is nothing more.  What’s more controversial than guns being used carelessly in today’s world?  Not much else.

Madonna is obviously starving for some media attention:

Madonna, follower of Jewish-sect Kabbalah, began it in a glass confessional as a Hebrew prayer was read then shot her way out with a rifle and burst into her hit Girl Gone Wild.

Later, during Revolver, she wielded the Kalashnikov AK47 automatic rifle, used by modern-day insurgents, while a dancer held an Israeli-manufactured Uzi.

Those pics are from her concert a few days ago in Tel Aviv.  Mission Accomplished with the controversial move to use guns to gain media attention.  So original material girl. *eye roll*

She should have went “all in” and had an interlude/skit where she was the anti-material girl, and shot an anti-materiel rifle at watermelons placed at the beyond the crowd.  Waving guns around on stage by themselves is amateur.
