Aurora, CO shooting survivor Stephen Barton victim meekly demands a plan:

I don’t know much about MAIG (Mayor’s Against Illegal Guns), but their purpose statement sounds legit:

Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a bipartisan coalition of more than 700 mayors focused on protecting their communities by keeping guns out of dangerous hands.

I see Boston mayor Menino and NY mayor Bloomberg are the heads of MAIG though, so it becomes obvious that purpose statement conveniently leaves out the sneaky “disarm everyone” twist.

Here’s my proposed 3 step plan in case anyone cares:

  • Create an expedited death penalty in all 50 states to dispose of people convicted of violent crimes
  • Take the restrictions off carry permits (open and concealed)
  • Allow people with carry permits to carry firearms anywhere and everywhere, with a few common sense restrictions which i’ll have to give some more thought to.

The anti-illegal gun ad that will be airing during the Superbowl tomorrow:

I wasn’t thrilled about the idea of this ad in the first place, but I was at least optimistic would have spent the money well.   What a useless pile of crap though.  All anyone is going to see is two old guys in football jerseys that they are already sick of hearing talk, and then tune out. Congratulations, you just wasted $3.5 million dollars.

Oh and you both support the 2nd Amendment?  Is that some sort of updated version i’m not aware off that states “If you’re rich you have the right to be armed and/or protected”? You hypocritical scrooge-mc-duck-type-motherf….

Illegal gun? *facepalm* are people still using that term?

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his national coalition against illegal guns plan to air a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl where he and Boston Mayor Tom Menino act out something anti-illegal-gun that plays on the rivalry between NY and Boston.  According to the article, National Super Bowl ads are fetching a record $3.5 million for 30-second spots.

Full Story – HERE

$3.5M for a 30 second spot?  Wouldn’t that money be better spent on something that will actually make a difference?  Perhaps pay for some police overtime? Maybe crack a few cases? Make a bunch of arrests?   Nahhhh forget it, this is more showy.

We need to repair the broken Federal background check system!  Gun show loophole! Gun show loophole!  How about everyone wakes up and smells the coffee and realizes that criminals do not care about background checks.  Even if that system became so air tight that a criminal could not possibly buy a new gun, the used market and underground market would still thrive.

Anyone want to weigh in?
