Deliver your shot in a line, rather than a circular pattern:

Cool.  hahah shooting plates with it is epic!

Previously unbeknownst to me, this “duckbill” style choke design was used by the NAVY seals back during Vietnam:

Looks like a neat toy anyway.  I wonder why we haven’t seen this type of choke in action movies yet, sawing guys in half, and making the halves fly 90ft backwards?

This is a probably a stupid question, but would this save any time in a 3 gun competition?  I’m assuming it would only be allowed in the open class.

$199 over at Paradigm SRP.

Would operate with?  What’s the verdict?  I’m sure a lot of operator types will jump on this thing just because “SEALs BRO… SEALs”.

A fan made US Naval Special Warfare DEVGRU Recruitment Video:

*eye roll* @ the suppressed fire sounds.  I think it would have been more effective to just not have any firing sounds than those dumb movie-type ones.

Besides that there was obviously some cool footage because those guys do cool stuff.  Who is this recruiting you ask?  COD nerds everywhere now brushing the Cheeto dust off their shirts, telling their moms to get their tactical load out from the rubbermaid containers in the garage, and starting to do some physical training.

Tactical-Operator-Military-VanEvery time I see night vision I am always reminded how bulky it is.. that does NOT look like fun to wear.  Beats dying though obviously.

Regular blog reader and former U.S. NAVY diver Jess Banda shares some tips:

You can buy the Captains of Crush hand grippers for around $20 here.  This will also help transform your sissy handshake to a more manly one.  It’s embarrassing meeting guys who have handshakes similar to an 8 year old girl’s.

You’ll also notice around the 2:25 point in the video Jess has on the ENDO M16 Selector Switch t-shirt!

You can follow Jess Banda over at his blog Banda Tactical Fitness for more tips and reviews.

An electromagnetic railgun offers a velocity previously unattainable in a conventional weapon, speeds that are incredibly powerful on their own. In fact, since the projectile doesn’t have any explosives itself, it relies upon that kinetic energy to do damage. And at 11 a.m. today, the Navy produced a 33-megajoule firing — more than three times the previous record set by the Navy in 2008.

So when will the railgun become a working weapon? Both Ellis and Carr expect fully functional railguns on the decks of U.S. Navy ships in the 2025 time frame.

Ugh 2025… and only on ships?  I want one NOWWWWWW!

Gunner’s Mate Keith McGinley prepares singer/actress Jessica Simpson for a .50-caliber gun shoot during a USO and Navy Entertainment sponsored visit aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).

Hopefully some pirates got in the way of her shooting. I’m glad to see she is still supporting our troops and doing the USO thing.
