Everything is a “drone” now… RC vehicles, quadcopters…. ALL DRONES apparently:

Back in my day the term used to mean something which was able to operate autonomously.  Now it’s just a cool word all the cool teens are attaching to everything.  GET OFF MY LAWN.  No seriously get off it, I pay good money to get it aerated and the fertilizer and water bill + fines are astronomical. It’s made for viewing, not playing with drones and walking on.

This above video is actually quite useless, but it did make me click through to the Parrot website so mission accomplished I guess.  Looks like Parrot actually has a bunch of cool offerings coming out soon.  WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.  The only mini one that’s not vaporware currently appears to be the Jumping Sumo, and for $160 it actually seems like a good deal.  Cool how there’s a built in camera which streams wirelessly to a handheld device which you use as the controller.  I don’t understand how kids aren’t getting into more trouble with this type of toy technology at their fingertips.  Here’s a video of one of the Jumping sumos in action, talking about its functionality if you care.
