shooter

A semi-automatic popcorn delivery device:

By popcorn company Popcorn Indiana.

The Popinator instantly delivers popcorn into a person’s mouth just by saying the word “pop”.  The Popinator is able to pinpoint where in the room the spoken word originated from as demonstrated in the video, and shoot a piece of popcorn at it up to 15 feet away.

I wonder if it could shoot homemade buttered popcorn too?  Or does it have to be dry bagged popcorn?

So awesome.  My only complaint is that this appears to be vaporware.  I don’t know what the deal with companies is… did Popcorn Indiana not think this would be a hit with the public?  Have they not worked the bugs out of the design?  These are questions that should be answered before going public with it and then not having any units for sale once the promo video goes viral and everyone in the world wants one.  I won’t give a shit about this product by next week because I will have already forgot it exists, but you can bet I would have bought one right now if it were available for a decent price.

Thoughts?  Assuming this ever becomes publicly available, are you putting it on your Christmas list?

Big dreams from this guy:

This game will get back to the core of what is loved about the tac-shooter, featuring realistic weapon modeling, outfitting and commanding your squad, objective-based, non-linear missions set in real-world locations around the world, single player, co-op, and multiplayer.

He has some nice credentials which give me confidence.

I’ve seen a lot of projects I thought were weak on Kickstarter achieve lots of success.  For all the people that game, I’m really surprised the response is so weak so far.  Considering the minimum pledge is $15 and that gets you a digital download of the game, that seems like a really good deal.

I suppose a big part of the low response is due to the fact the $200000 is only to prove the viability to investors.  Really, if you donate your $15 god knows when you’ll ever see the game from it. It could be years.

Thoughts?

Keep your eyes on the front sight:

Probably legal in the UK.  I’m sure these will sell like hotcakes there, you just have to remember to aim for the criminal’s face where it will sting the most.

Neat idea!  I’m surprised I never thought of this back in elementary school when we used to have Elastic band wars daily.

Maybe i’ll get a platinum wedding ring with a front sight on it someday? :P

I’m looking forward to the future design that incorporates a tritium powered red-dot with magnification.

Probably not worth getting kicked out of elementary school for:

By designer Sebastian Bergne.  I don’t think it’s worth $29 +shipping, but you might disagree.

We used to make similar rubber band guns at school. Nothing stings more than a stretched broccoli elastic.

Don’t get me wrong, I like my current ENDO Tactical business cards.  They are very simple, clean looking, and nice and thick.

The problem is though, they don’t “do” anything, so they are likely not very memorable.

Enter the Penny Shooter, and the Cardapult..

With both of those you can shoot around 15 feet according to the videos.  Very neat designs…
