With only 4 complete seasons under History Channel’s Top Douchebag belt, you’d think that they would wait a while yet. I guess not. To me that seems like a good indicator that they are planning on cutting the show from the line-up soon.

Let me start off by saying I know absolutely zero about competitive shooting. It interests me as much as wasting my valuable time watching people play any other sports such as football, baseball etc. The objective of professional competitions normally are to try and win though… so I find Glock’s acquisition of Michelle Viscusi interesting to say the least.

She was a disappointing 5th out of 18 people to be eliminated on Top Douchebag season 4. I never watched the show so I can’t tell you if she got screwed somehow on that, but I’m sure the producers would have loved to have her on there for ratings if they could have somehow swung it. Also, I’ve never seen her shoot, and before someone makes some smart-ass comment about how well I can or cannot shoot I’ll save you the trouble and say I know she can shoot better than me. That said, I find it incredibly hard to believe that out of every professional level man or woman that should have been on Glock’s radar, she was the best. Best looking, possibly… but best shooter? What is the purpose of Team Glock anyway? Is it just a PR machine to strut around at trade shows and have a presence in the competitive shooting world? Does winning or losing really not matter?

After reading the article there is no doubt she is a hard worker, but I still question if all her practice and recent dedication has got her skills at par with the other competitive shooters that took years to get where’s shes now at.
With Tori Nanonka also on the team, Glock is definitely going to have some killer calendar material if they ever want to raise some money.

Colin Gallagher – “My colleagues would describe me as a little guy with a big mouth” <– despite this self proclaimed douchebaggery he actually seems like a good guy.
Craig Buckland – Smart guy, seems nice as well.
Dylan Fletcher – “I don’t like gun ranges ’cause there are rules” “I would describe myself as ‘the shit'” Kind of annoying, but not as bad as I thought he would be after those two comments.
Eric ‘Iggy’ Keyes – “Put your sights where your mouth is, I’m gonna be top shot.. yes I am” hahaha seems like an alright guy. I liked the little jingle at the end of his video.
Forrest McCord – Nice guy.
Frank Melloni – Nice guy.
Gabby Franco – She seems nice.
Gary Shank – Nice guy.
OMG this is painfully boring.. please History.. Please make one of the next 7 people annoying.
Gregory Littlejohn – Nice guy.
Keith Gibson – Nice guy.
Kyle Sumpter – Nice guy.
Michelle Viscusi – Yikes, the internet is going to love her. I hope she can shoot under pressure. Better watch the brass on that cleavage.
Terry Vaughan – Seems like a good guy. Needs to go up 1 size on that v-neck though. Wait “I will win top shot” did he just say that? Yea now I hope he loses quick.
Tim Trefren – Nice guy.
William Bethards – Nice guy as well.
There appears to be a real lack of annoying people compared to previous seasons. I”m not sure why the History Channel would do this… I would have picked the loudest most annoying people on the planet and mixed them with people that would embarrass them on the range.
I haven’t watched the first two episodes (nor do I plan to), but i’ll keep an eye on the discussion you guy have in the comments, and then open up a vote towards the end of the season.

I haven’t seen an episode of Top Shot this season, so I really don’t know anything about this guy. This target though isn’t even something I’d consider clever. I’m no lawyer, but making a shooting target up about someone (without their authorization) seems like a real bold move... If Jake is that much of a douchebag maybe he’s in on it and getting a kickback?

I don’t particularly care for Top Shot, so I probably won’t watch very many episodes. I think starting it up in summer is also a mistake, because most people have better things to do than watch TV indoors.
I’m looking forward to running the dialog though and hearing your thoughts on the contestants as the show progresses.
Surprisingly there isn’t any blatant douchebaggery in the trailer; Everyone actually seems pretty nice. I thought the ex navy seal (Jake Zewig) at the end was going to be my pick when he said he “had the innate ability to do the impossible consistently”, but his chuckle afterwards tells me that he was joking.
There aren’t any individual cast videos up yet, although I’m sure you can find a lot of their audition videos if your search for their names on youtube. Their bios are up on the History website though if you want to take a look.
I’m normally pretty good at distinguishing confidence from douchebaggery, but maybe i’m off my game tonight.
