If you grew up in the 80s and 90s are are literate you likely remember the “Choose Your Own Adventure” series of books.  Well the London Metropolitan Police who’s motto is “Working together for a safer London” has put out a bunch of videos using the same style, with the topic being scenarios involving carrying knives in the UK:

Pretty hilarious how bad their laws are there. Most of the scenarios set out in the videos are pretty laughable and unrealistic too.

According to their promo website DropTheWeapons.org, “Picking up a gun or a knife always makes a situation worse never better.” …. Good to know! seems I learn something new every day *rolls eyes*.

And like needed another reason to never visit the UK, they have something there referred to as “Joint Enterprise“, which sounds pretty ridiculous.

If you are still looking for more UK related LOLz, check out the posts I did on Starter Pistols and Knife Surrender Bins.

From me to the London Metro Police: Keep on keeping London safe guys.  I hear it’s a crime-free utopia there hahah

“We have learned something important since the days that I served in Vietnam,” Mr. Blumenthal said to the group gathered in Norwalk in March 2008. “And you exemplify it. Whatever we think about the war, whatever we call it — Afghanistan or Iraq — we owe our military men and women unconditional support.”

Nice words… BUT…

Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat now running for the United States Senate, never served in Vietnam. He obtained at least five military deferments from 1965 to 1970 and took repeated steps that enabled him to avoid going to war, according to records.

Full Story – HERE

Judging by the rest of the article, he seems to be doing a whole lot of backpedaling now.

Pretty funny how the NYT headline says his “words differ” rather than calling him a liar. How classy of them to use a euphemism.

I’ve never been to war, or been in the military.  But for those who have, I assume its pretty easy to spot when someone is bullshitting about their service.

Sadly, an incident like this probably wont hurt his senate chance.

This Chevy Suburban fitted with a M2 machine gun was found in Nuevo Laredo Mexico, just across the Rio Grande from Texas:

Pretty scary considering some points of Nuevo Laredo are less than a mile from houses in Texas! (Google Map)

Unsurprisingly, Google does not have “street view” on their maps in that part of Mexico.  Probably something to do with their automated censor program not being able to tell a dead body from a live one. :P

Looks like the M2 would have limited mobility in the back of that suburban because due to the barrel length it would be trapped between the frame on the back right side window.
