upper

According to their website the starting price is $1295.

It’s too bad they don’t get into the upper / bolt market separately… I’m sure they would make a killing if people could just buy that and not a whole new gun.

Video of it in action – HERE

It’s weird when you can see right through the upper when the bolt locks back!

That would be priceless if it went down like that between Shia LaBeouf and Tyrese Gibson, but I’m not holding my breath.

The upper receiver looks like an AT4 with some extras. I’m not sure about the night vision.. I don’t know much about those.

  • The upper receiver is a modified AR-15 upper that will feed with standard SAW M249 links
  • The lower and bolt carrier are stock with only a clearance cut added
  • Every other aspect of the gun is standard AR-15

I have no idea if they are for sale.  My guess is that if the price was right (under $300), they would fly off the shelves.  I even think people with regular semi auto AR-15s would buy them for kicks.

On his way to this weekend’s Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot in West Point Kentucky:

Allen Harvey Friedlander, of Southfield, Mich., was piloting the plane when it crashed on an outer road that circles the fair grounds between gates 1 and 6 about 8:30 p.m., FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said.

No one else was on board the Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee, which was registered to Friedlander.

Eight machine guns, three upper receivers — or gun parts used for assembly — and several thousand rounds of ammunition were removed from the plane, according to Alicia Smiley, a Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman, but the amount and types of guns removed was unavailable.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the weapons, which are being held in Louisville police’s property room, Smiley said.

Full Story – HERE

My guess is he was bringing all the guns to the Knob Creek shoot to make some money off rentals. (Now Confirmed HERE)

Interview with the Pilot:

Hopefully the man makes a speedy recovery, and the ATF gives him his guns back.

This is the first magazine fed upper I’ve ever seen in such a large caliber!

http://www.tactilite.com/vmchk/tactilite-t-2-magazine-fed-uppers/view-all-products.html

Available for preorder ($2198) with a $500 deposit.

You can choose from the following calibers: .50 BMG, .338 Lapua or .416 Barrett

Scheduled to be released for Christmas this year.

My concern with these large caliber uppers is, can a aluminum AR-15 lower which is meant for .223/5.56 really handle the repeated recoil of a .50 BMG / .338 Lapua / .416 Barrett?

I’m sure they have done their due diligence and shot thousands of rounds through systems like these, and then magnetic particle inspected the lower… but that data never seems to be released.

It’s a shame that the ammo you would need to feed this thing is so pricey!
