Vehicle CQB with William Petty:

0:39 – Awww yea temple index… there it is right there man.  With a duck hat none the less!

1:52 – Damn that would be a bad day in traffic.

Looks like something different!  I see they are putting sim rounds in play too, so that probably is helpful.  Fail for not having more footage of those girls though amirite guys? :P

William-Petty-Vehicle-CQB-ShootingI had no idea who William Petty was when I started the video, and uncharacteristically (for me) after watching it I actually did care so I looked him up.  To summarize, he was in Law Enforcement and trained cops in Albuquerque NM, then he relocated to Abu Dhabi UAE to work as a counter terrorism instructor with the government there.  He’s seemingly back stateside now lighting it up on the range, mixing it up with vehicles.

When your torso in a vehicle is exposed to incoming fire, this is what you need to do apparently:

Dallas Lloyd, Host of Tactical Environments and Lead Instructor for Premier Tactical Group looks at ways you can use your vehicle defensively if you have a situation where you need to shoot.

0:24 – The explanation of what’s about to happen begins.

1:00 – Wait a minute… what’s going on?

1:03 – LOLOL he’s actually doing it.  Is this real life?

Back-Seat-Operator-Maneuver-Dallas-Lloyd1:17 – AHAHAHAHHAHA the roll out of the truck into the prone position.  Pure comedy.

I have to say I’m a bit disappointed after all that he didn’t do “the worm” to retreat back toward the tailgate, then proceed to get up onto it and engage more tangos.

Thoughts?  Are you training like this starting today?

Yea this happened:

Uh yea… I’m not touching this one.  I’m sure he’s had to delete a million comments considering his heavily criticized history regarding vehicle ambushes.  I mentioned before I don’t have an opinion on those events… I wasn’t there and the video sucks.

The system holds an M4,Shotgun and handgun in your large vehicle:

Some issues I have with the product:

  • It’s aluminum.  Yea I know it’s to save weight, but that’s at the cost of having easy as butter to break into.
  • The lock mechanism looks weak.  Seriously, an L-bracket secured by two screws?
  • It opens up only in the direction of the driver, creating a barrier to the passenger.  I think i’d rather have it open forward, so the passenger could quickly get a gun too.
  • The price.  For $2400 I wish it at least came with an AR500 steel plate in the lid so that a person could take cover behind it if they got ambushed.
  • It’s tied into your factory door locks.  So does that maen if a thief smashes the window and hits the unlock button he can have all your firearms?

As far as my last gripe goes, I know it’s not meant to be a safe… but it very well could be one if it the product was done properly and at least provide the thief with some barriers to entry.  Lastly it appears their target market for this product is law enforcement, not the regular guy.  I don’t know how much of a problem law enforcement has with vehicle weapon theft, but i’m sure the issue is not that widespread considering how stupid someone would have to be to do that.

MrColionNoir heads out to the whip to take a look:

MIC – Apparently not only a racial slur targeted at Irish people. :P  Or maybe this holster was originally intended for the Irish… I don’t know.

I like the idea of that type of holster for easy access in a vehicle.  If you’re on the fence about it, for $19 it’s definitely worth a look.

There are other more “boutique” options such as the Raven Concealment Vanguard 2 which I have also looked at.  It’s more expensive at $35 though.

I’m waiting for a video where MrColionNoir revisits car holsters when he gets his BMW M6.

Notice the quick flash of the ENDO Selector Switch hat during the handgun cover part of the video?  If you want one, they are almost out of stock.

Thoughts?  How do you keep a handgun at arms reach easily accessible in your vehicle?
