California SB249 Bullet Button Ban – DEAD

Does that mean the smug look is finally wiped off Senator Leland Yee’s face?

I hope so.  Although he probably won’t sleep well knowing all the criminals out there will still be committing heinous acts with 10 round magazines and bullet button equipped assault rifles.  *eye roll*

From the Gun Owners Of California Website:

We were made aware early this afternoon, directly by the staff of the Appropriations Committee, that SB 249 will not be heard on Thursday, as was previously reported.  They have decided to let the bill die, due to the enourmous pressure put on the Capitol by the pro-gun community led by Gun Owners of California!

Good riddance SB249.  Gun Owners Of California urges CA residents to contact state assembly members and politely let them know not to try such a move again.

Thoughts?

I won’t believe it until the deadline for voting passes. This can still be brought back for a vote at any point over the next two days. What I find amazing about all of this is that a CA legal AR has never been used in a crime but they need to be banned right now right away because there’s assault rifle induced mayhem in the streets and we’re all gonna die. What planet do these people live on?

This bill is still listed as active on the CA legislative website and is still scheduled to be voted on on 8/16.

…and it still may. They do that shit. Will tell a group there to speak against it that its dead, then reschedule the hearing where their will be zero opposition.

I love how they treat the way a republic is supposed to work as such a horrible, mean thing. Oh, woe is us, people banded together and told their representatives our bill was idiotic, and they killed it. Look how picked-upon we are!

“Victimhood” is a sacrosanct status amongst “gun control” extremists, and they find any and all ways possible to assume that mantle.

Good point. Well said.

I don’t trust them …. They are NOT beyond trying to pull a fast one to get it passed. Keep an eye on those slimy turds.

Not dead, just shelved until after the elections. We need to keep his inbox and fax machine full for quite awhile (2020 at least) He and his cohort De leon are constantly busy doing everything they can to disarm California.

It is not over until Saturday morning at 12:01 am. Up until that point they can still present the bill with a rules waiver. The cutoff is 9/1/12 to get it to the governors desk for a signature. Even if this bill is truly dead, there are many others in progress or in the minds of the scared legislators who represent their personal demons as the desires of the public. This will not stop until the people wake up and stop electing these retards to public office. This is what you get with a full time legislator, they have to do something to justify their paychecks so they legislate everything. Even if dead, I wonder how much this bill cost the public.

On another note, if passed it can be fought in the courts. The catch to this? We, as citizens, have to fund the opposition through donations. They get to fight our opposition with our tax dollars. So, we pay to fight it and we pay to fight to keep it. Something is wrong with the system.

They could also piggyback it on another bill I bet..something that will pass. I’m so proud of 2A activists in CA fighting the fight I don’t have to here in MT.

Love this “Although he probably won’t sleep well knowing all the criminals out there will still be committing heinous acts with 10 round magazines and bullet button equipped assault rifles.”. I am a Kalifornia AR owner who longs for the SCAR 16.

Poor Cali folk. Your CA compliant rifles are just too hilarious.

Yeah. Not to make fun but jeez Loise, I’ve seen some pics of AKs with those freakin’ bullet buttons and goofy things behind the pistol grip….

I’d just move. Swear to God. If gun owners have to put up with this shit, what else do they have to stomach?

I did move, not only because of gun laws but that played a part.

I find it hard to believe that an anti-gun law is going to die, especially in light of recent events. I would hope that our nations politicians can be taken at their word but I know better. I hope this works out for CA gun owners, I really do.

StopSB249.org, CalGunsFoundation, and SAF/NRA, et al did a great job in spreading the word and putting Lee on the ropes. That being said, this isn’t the end by any means and we need to keep the fight up.

I am going to find out who is running against Yee and De Leon and donate $100 bucks to each of their campaigns. This shit has got to stop.

Somewhere on the Internet there is a picture of Mao with Yee’s face superimposed. It was very well done.

I want to know one thing, how are we going to get rid of these misguided socialists. They have infiltrated every aspect of our once great culture with their twisted, distorted ideology.

Do we have to wait 3 more generations before sanity returns. This my generation I am ashamed to say, their was something wrong with them in 60’s….I never dreamed they would carry their sickness into every corner of ou rculture.

Shit men…I don’t even know what to say about this gun nazi…I think he mistakes the US for North Korea or something. This is America Jack. And we like our guns. If you want to live in a gun free government controlled place, go home to your lovely North Korea or mainland China. Or pick a place on the map NOT in CONUS…and skedaddle. Biotch!!
