I’d like to see these in a lineup like the recent posts I made on rifle ammo and handgun ammo.
I have absolutely no idea what approximately 80/100 of these are used for.

Quite the collection.

Sadly, this little guy probably shoots better than I do:
I caught a glimpse of an IPSC patch a couple places in the video. I don’t know if this in the U.S. or not.
That kid can sure handle a .45 without any issue though. I wonder how he scored?

This is a gun board classic:
After some years now of reading internet bulletin boards, I think I’ve got the pros and cons of possible SHTF rifle choices figured out. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the following is my analysis based upon the wisdom of numerous gun board gurus (you know them, they’re always the first ones to tell you a particular model gun is “junk” and enlighten you as to why they have made the only logical purchases)…
The AR 15:
Great, awesome, unbelievable rifle(when it works). Can hit a fly in the butt at 300 yards (when it works). If one is ever attacked by a pack of feral poodles post-SHTF, this is the perfect defensive rifle (unless it jams, in which case you’re poodle food). The upside is that one can hang more plastic aftermarket doo-dads on it than a Christmas tree, which may effectively frighten away bad guys when the gun jams. Also, by simply changing the upper, one can convert it into a Ruger 10/22.
The MINI-14:
Could be a good rifle, but it’s not black.

Pretty awesome animation. I assume it was done in Blender or 3d Studio Max judging by the reflections.

Yea yea… Glocks explode… I’ll save all you Glock haters the trouble and post these before you get a chance:

I have not had a Glock explode on me yet… and I’ve never seen it happen. Every gun store on earth though has employees that have seen “LOTS” explode “with their own eyes” and they love telling you this every time you inquire about a Glock … riiiiiighhht *rolls eyes*
I still think that most of these problems could be attributed to the “unsupported” chamber on the Glock, and shooting hot reloads.
If you want to shoot hot reloads, and you have a Glock, it would likely be best to buy an aftermarket barrel like the one on the left. Notice the amount of the body of the cartridge that is exposed on the Glock factory barrel (right).

I’ll stick to my factory loaded ammunition and the factory barrels for now.

MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va.
a Marshall County officer was shooting at the range Tuesday morning when his service weapon literally blew up in his hand during a round of fire.
“The weapon went to the ground, the range officers were yelling for cease-fires,” he said.
Cecil says it was the first time the .45-caliber pistol had ever been used.”All that energy blew out on the top of his hand. And that’s where his injuries are,” Cecil said.
The deputy is now recovering at home. He’s still undergoing testing to find out the severity of his injuries.
The chief believes bad ammunition caused this bizarre accident, but he’s looking into it further.

Our stock systems can shorten your overall rifle by 7 to 20 inches! This retrofit system produces a superior weapon platform with .30 caliber performance and the M-14’s reliability and accuracy.
2 models available:
1) Synthetic – $749
2) Aluminum – $999
I like the look of everything BUT the trigger / trigger guard… it looks like a accidental discharge waiting to happen.

The .950 JDJ is among the world’s most-powerful, and largest-caliber, rifle cartridges. Loaded .950 JDJ cartridges are approximately the length of an empty .50 BMG casing (i.e., 4″), and are based on a 20mm Vulcan case shortened and necked up to accept the .950″ bullet. Projectiles are custom-made and most commonly weigh 3,600 grains (8.2 ounces, or over half a pound).
.950 JDJ cartridge wiki – HERE
As its name implies, rifles chambered for the cartridge have a bore diameter of 0.950″, which would normally classify them as Destructive Devices under the 1934 National Firearms Act. However, SSK sought and received a “Sporting Use Exception” to de-regulate the rifles, meaning they can be purchased like any other rifle by a person over age 18 with no felonious criminal record. The rifles themselves use McMillan stocks and extraordinarily thick Krieger barrels bearing an 18 lb (8.2 kg) muzzle brake. Overall, depending on options, the rifles weigh between 80 and 110 pounds and are therefore only useful for shooting from a bench rest or heavy bipod. Despite the weight, recoil is significant. muzzle energy of 38,685 ft·lbf (52,450 J). For comparison, the 5.56×45 cartridge, used in the AR-15 rifle, produces approximately 1,200–1,300 ft·lbf. The .308 Winchester, a favorite for hunters and medium-range police/military sniping, produces between 2,000 and 3,000 ft·lbf (4,100 J) depending on the load used. The rifles cost $8,000, loaded cartridges are $40 each.
I can’t believe the muzzle energy on that thing… that is NUTS.
As cool as this is, I much would rather have a .50 caliber Barrett for so many reasons.

The rifle cartridges are available at SSK Industries – HERE
Thanks to Jim for the info.
