I thought this video deserved its own post, because of its awesomeness. I can’t imagine anything cooler than shooting at things out of a helicopter.

JUMP DOWN ↓ TO ADD ANOTHER
On my counter-narco-terrorism deployment (now there is a mouthful), we took along a Coast Guard detachment, complete with two teams of .50-caliber snipers. These guys used standard Barretts, and plugged go-fast drug-running boats with them from helicopters.
They were fricking nuts.
They were also good enough to take out go-fast engines with go-fast crew draped over them. How you accomplish that on a moving target, from a moving target, I will never know.
Funny story, though – the dets initially used the shorter-barrel version of the Barrett… until the concussive blast from the brake showed a tendency of blowing out helicopter windows. Hm.
Holy, that sounds like an intense job. It definitely would be rewarding though.
