Facebook Founder Only Eats What He Kills

When he’s not too busy connecting people across the universe, Mark Zuckerberg is pursuing a new “personal challenge,” as he calls it. “The only meat I’m eating is from animals I’ve killed myself,” says the Facebook founder and CEO.

The article is definitely worth the read. An interesting challenge for a multi-billionaire to take on.

I’d be interested to see how long he follows through with it.  If he actually gets into hunting, can you imagine the gun collection he could afford?!

Maybe he should be doing it with exotic/rare/expensive rifles? Like a Walther 2000, PSG-1, Lahti-39, etc…
A rifle is a rifle, especially if it shoots true and reliably, but I’d be somewhat disappointed if he just uses a basic hunting geared towards hunters on a budget. But I must confess that even those rifles can be just as effective in the right hands, otherwise surplus Mausers, Mosins, and Springfields would be a lot cheaper.

As one movie mentions, “It’s not a challenge if you know you can do it.” It would be great to see if Zucker could successfully hunt with what I mentioned, or something more exotic/challenging. Like a slingshot…

It doesn’t sound like he’s interested in hunting, just killing the domesticated animals he’s going to eat. He’s no Jeremiah Johnson, but I guess his intent is to see the animal through from its natural state of being alive through to when it makes it to his plate. Nothing wrong with that. I’m not sure why he feels compelled to kill them himself instead of the farmer who raised them or the butcher who will cut them up though. Maybe it’s just a gateway to him murdering hookers…

LOL I lost it when I read that!

Every time I read about this story, the line from Chronicles of Riddick runds through my head… “You keep what you kill…”

Good for him. It’s nice to see someone with all that money giving consideration to how we got to where we are today.

Um, isn’t he Jewish. Us jews cannot just randomly shoot an animal and serve it up on the plate. There are specific guidelines, and one of those is that the animal be killed in a very certain way (which BTW, involves a knife, very hard to do in the wild).

You must not have bothered to read the article. There’s nothing “wild” about it. He’s not hunting animals; he’s just killing them. That being the case, it’s a little disturbing. He doesn’t want to hunt an animal and kill it for food, he just wants to end the life of the animal that he’s going to eat. I do a little hunting, and enjoy it. I also buy steaks, hamburger, chicken, etc. from the grocery store, but have no desire to kill the cow that’s providing the steak. I’ll let someone else handle that.

Apparently he derives some pleasure from killing an animal, without hunting it, and without having to deal with the business of cleaning it. I wonder if he pops a little chubby when he watches something die. Sounds like he might be a late-blooming psychopath.

I may not agree with what you’re saying, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Pfffft. So he plans to only eat meat from animals that he kills. I would be more impressed if he killed it, cleaned it and dressed it.
