Waste Of A Perfectly Good Minigun Opportunity

Thousands of dollars worth of ammunition, and pretty boring to watch:

What a perfectly good opportunity to blow some shit up… wasted.. just wasted.   Like for god sake at least saw a tree in half or something!

Seriously FPS Russia.. if you’re running out of ideas holler at me.  I think of things to shoot at that you only could dream of.    I say we combine your access to insane weapons, with my creative mind and make some real videos.

The Mini Gun Is a GE M134.  I don’t know much about mini guns, but that seems to be the one that’s always talked about so I’m assuming there aren’t too many other popular models out there.  Back in 2009 if you had $250,000 you could have picked up your very own GE M134 Minigun , i’m not sure if it’s still available.

Yeah that kind of power needs some big BOOM down range…. Looks like a lot of fun to shoot. How the hell does this guy get all these cool firearms to shoot????? WTF does one have to do to get that kind of access?.. I’d sell a kid or two…JK.

You could just email him your ideas. I think he would be interested, i mean its a rich kid in north Gerogia who probly doesnt do much else than play video games. He has to have to have the time to respond.

Frankly, if Jeremy Clarkson managed to down a tree with an MP5 in their Winter Car Olympics episode, he should be able to do the same.

Also, hehe, James May actually won the Top Gear Biathlon.

That was an awesome episode. That said, they are all pretty good.

No shit guys. Can you imagine the cumulative recoil of the real thing? He does say ‘like’ Jesse Ventura.

That’s a REALLY old version of the M134/GAU-17…we are using the Dillon-Aero produced guns now in the military, specifically in Navy specwar special boat teams and navy riverines. They produce much better builds. Titanium parts, enhanced flash suppressors, better feeder/delinkers. http://www.dillonaero.com

Not tracers? WTH?

The fun of firing a mini-gun is the laser-like beam of destruction.

FPSRussia is kind of a one-trick-pony to me:
*blablabla* “let’s have some fun” *shooting* *nodding at camera* *shooting* “that’s what I’m talking about” *more shooting**something to the effect that this is the best gun ever* “have a nice day”

Also, I really dislike it when I have to hide annotations (other videos use them to convey actual information, so I have them enabled by default) because of his begging to subscribe and share and favorite…

I have some questions. I hope someone can give educated answers.
What is the chance of him giving himself a lead poisoning? Could the lead get into the groundwater and could his house there get its water from a well?
How much did that ammo cost? The M134 shoots 7.62×51mm NATO. What was the rate of fire on the minigun (2000 to 6000 rpm)?

Zero chance of getting lead poison, lead doesn’t dissolve in water. Most of those rounds probably skipped off the pond into a neighbor anyway.

It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this gun…for twelve seconds.

On a side note that may ruin the joke, I don’t get the hate toward FPSRussia. He’s not claiming to be an expert on guns in the same way a COWADOODY player would, he’s just a spokesperson for a gunstore that lets him shoot a whole lot of really cool stuff.

I don’t know, I never thought I would skip forward on a video of someone shooting this gun, but it was just blah.

Its sad how they reduce how fast it cycles when he is standing and shooting, he wasn’t even man enough to run it on its full cycle rate this guy is fucking clown shoes.

At least he could be shooting at some wild hogs, that would have been great.
For interesting night hunting of wild hogs using thermal vision check out Jager Pro site, they have some good videos on it, or see youtube.

I ignore FPSrussia and his boring videos. If enough people stop paying attention, maybe he will stop.

GE M1234 goes from 4000-6000 Rpm, Dillon Aero is only 3000. Lets just put it this way, 4000 RPM is 66 rounds per second, and I would assume he bought 1000 round cases of ammo, unless it was provided for him. So, $700 roughly for a 1000 round case of Winchester .308… and it looked like he shot for 2 minutes, once in daylight, once at night. So that is approximately 8000 rounds = $5600

1st of all its the M134. and the dillon is the M134D. if this is an older one it is actually probably a GAU-3 which is the non-army version (same gun).

and i highly doubt he was shooting winchester through the gun. nobody fires sporting good bought ammo through a minigun. he was more than likely supplied the ammo from the owner, and these guys usually buy it by the pallet from surplus programs of other countries. Such as portugese or malaysian ammo. it is much much cheaper than 700 a case, but still expensive when you are talking about 3000 rounds a minute.

Your math is off. .308 goes for as little as 400$ for berdian primed brass case…

Reply

SPC Fish September 25, 2011 at 08:57 pm

and here is the owners of that particular minigun. only about $45-50k for a postie. not the $195-300k for the transferrables
