Honest Swedish Army Commercial

Pretty good:

Poking fun at some of the over the top Transformers-Independence-Day-esque US military commercials.  A couple good Air Force ads to wet your whistle if you’re not familar – HERE and HERE.

Do fancy commercials help with recruiting?  I’d put my money on ‘yes’.

I hate those Air Farce commercials. They ARE science fiction.

Sorry Mike,

Doesn’t hold a candle to the bad-asses in the Japanese Navy.

hahaha.. this is retarded!! :D
i wonder how many seaman enlist from this commercial..

If our military had ads like this, I’d be a lot more incline to visit a recruiting office.

Thanks you Sweden, for not trying to appeal to retards. No offense to anyone serving, it’s just that our military have the worst advertising imaginable…

If our military had realistic commercials, it would show a PFC cleaning something, and a Sgt or SSG getting chewed out because one of their E4s got a DUI over the weekend. Then it would pan over and show that NCO filling out a mountain of paperwork.

I swear, even on pre-deployment training, I did more paperwork and political-correctness classes than actual infantry training. No wonder they can’t retain veteran soldiers anymore.

And also all the vets coming home with higher rates of alcoholism, failed marriages, joblessnes, suicide rates, and other problems that are inherent to veterans of war. Funny they never show that….

It’s not propaganda if the US does it, right?

Score one for the Swedish. Down to Earth. Real. Practical. That’s how a Soldier should be, not acting out his Call of Duty fantasy.

I usually hate nationalism, but not in this case, heheh!
But when I saw the actual american recruitment videos after seeing this one, it hurt mentally when I realized this particular one wasn’t exaggerating.

And it’s ironic, really, because Swedish politicians are all pulling as much money as possible, and a little bit more from the military budget.
Seriously, if any of you have some say in what country should be invaded next, you should take Sweden just to make a point, and then pull out again.
