Bravo Concealment Double Rifle Double Pistol Magazine Holster

First a demo by YouTube tacticouple Cory & Erika:

Known as the FMS Magazine Pouch.  WTF does FMS mean you ask?  Well kind sir, Bravo Concealment decided it would be cool to bring shame to the sanctity of acronyms by making FMS – FPS Russia Mag-dump System.  *smh*  Sure FPS Russia pimps their products to his tween crowd on the regular, but I don’t think the full grown operator demographic that is spending $135 on this holster are going to be impressed by the fake Russian branding.

I’ve worked with Kydex, and it’s not rocket science.  40-45 calendar days (stated on the website) to ship an order seems excessive.  I’ve heard it has been like that for quite a while with Bravo Concealment, and I fail to understand why companies like this don’t evolve and do something to fix their efficiency problems.  In a market where a majority of purchases would be made on impulse I think they are really shitting the bed.  How many of you ever have said “Damn I need a holster… not now, but in a month and a half”?

Thoughts?  Are you anticipating a need for one of these double rifle / double pistol holsters in a month and a half?

If either of those 3 tactards recommended water to me in the desert i wouldn’t try it.
Derp with titties.
As to the product, its misnamed for one. Its not a mag dump system. This video clearly shows that job is taken by the floor.
As far as a pistol/rifle mag holster combo, i dont need one.

elephantrider November 7, 2012 at 02:31 pm

Initial reactions:
– It looks bulky and heavy for something made from kydex (Kydex is primarily used for concealed carry). Note you don’t either of them running with the thing.
– It’ll weigh 4+ lbs. fully loaded, plus your pistol on the other side of your belt. 5-6lbs. seems like a lot of weight on the thing that’s meant to hold your pants up (i.e your belt).
– If you need that much shit, just throw on a warbelt setup.
– I though Raven Concealment had a system like this several youars ago, but maybe this is a newer tweak to that.

People need to leave the kydex hoslters and pouches to the duty where they work best, concealed carry. I’m tired of seeing these thin kydex sandwich style holsters and pouches used for open duty carry. They are not the best for that.

Stanley Endo November 7, 2012 at 01:19 am

If a month and a half sounds bad, what would you say about Raven Concealment’s 16-18 week lead time? Now that’s just insane. Even the “Quick Ship” products for the most common configurations are 3-4 weeks.

Maybe the stuff they make is so good and so in demand that such a long wait is justified. Who knows, I’m not a tactical operator. Safariland seems to work just fine for me.

Dave November 7, 2012 at 02:34 am

I have no use for this video or this product but don’t get the Amazon next day shipping requirement for other impulse buys. I’ve been reading your blog for a while because it’s smart and funny and here are two posts in a row I don’t get.

Raven’s two week estimate didn’t even register as an issue. I’ll never need a new holster tomorrow because this is a hobby for me. They seem like a good company and I’d rather wait two weeks than they double the price.

ENDO-Mike November 7, 2012 at 11:35 am

I think you missed the point of both posts. The first one I never made fun of the girl, and this post has nothing to do with a two week wait at Raven Concealment.

liquidflorian November 7, 2012 at 01:33 pm

Last I heard Raven had a 9 month wait.

ENDO-Mike November 7, 2012 at 04:03 pm

Holy that’s even crazier! I thought 1 – 1.5 months was bad.

Dave November 7, 2012 at 07:15 pm

You’re right. Sorry. I came on both posts exhausted after election night and hoping for the usual laugh and the comments pissed me off. The awful ones on the linked youtube videos probably bled in.

The constant dumbass comments about whether any woman reviewing an S&W or mag carrier being doable, fat, or “shoots good for a girl” shit should be laughed out of town. It’d be fun.

This is about the only diy/punk rock gun forums talk out there.

cc19 November 7, 2012 at 03:06 am

I hope the internet celebrity endorsement boom dies a fast, hard death. I don’t want to see a, “Lolcats Tactical LLC,” during my time here on Earth.

Wolf November 7, 2012 at 06:44 am

I’m making this happen.

Dru November 7, 2012 at 05:55 am

All i was thinking, well during half the video, was this really should stand for ‘fornicate my snatch’ least thats what i was thinking when the pretty lady started talking about it. but honestly how easy kydex is to work with i have no idea how any of these systems sell let alone for the crazy amounts of money they cost. you can buy the kydex, a small oven, and build a press with the amount of money this costs. its crazy talk.

AKFTW November 7, 2012 at 07:13 am

Honestly on a hardware vs hardware basis, I like it better than the Costa Leg Rig, endorsements notwithstanding.

Al T. November 7, 2012 at 08:38 am

Erika belongs on Xhampster, not Youtube.

elephantrider November 7, 2012 at 02:20 pm

It’s xhamster, not “xhampster.” We wouldn’t want anyone getting lost on the way to getting their internet porn.

cc19 November 7, 2012 at 04:33 pm

I think you’ve discovered a new genre to bring to that market. I mean, it practically writes itself with the whole instructor/student thing.

dave w November 7, 2012 at 09:12 am

so many potential comments of the week in here

mynameisfoxtrot.com November 7, 2012 at 09:36 am

that feels like a whole lot of weight on just one hip…

Anon November 7, 2012 at 09:45 am

Raven has had one of these rigs out for awhile now.

santi November 7, 2012 at 10:08 am

wheres the respect?

Taylor TX November 7, 2012 at 11:50 am

I dont understand why they went with the double youtube endorsement on this one.

liquidflorian November 7, 2012 at 01:36 pm

The problem with this Kydex work is its time consuming and labor intensive. I’m trying in earnest to start making some on my own as a side gig. Once you get your jigs and molds set up it can go faster but its a lot of hand finishing to get it right.

SixtyForty November 7, 2012 at 01:53 pm

An acronym within an acronym? Is that even legal?

Davey November 7, 2012 at 02:11 pm

What’s the trouble with a little wait for Kydex? Yeah, my Raven Concealment Phantom was on the quick-ship list and it took less than a month, but…

… Look at the good ole days of leather. Anybody remember the lead time for a leather holster from Milt Sparks or one of the other famous shops? In the mid 90’s my Sparks holster took 90 days…

… and that pales in comparison to the year+ wait for a Randall knife. Craftsmanship and quality take time, or as somebody else said, “Quick – Cheap – Quality; pick two”.

Dave November 7, 2012 at 07:25 pm

What is the wait time on a Milt Sparks? I remember they were the best in the ’90s but their website is odd. I couldn’t afford one then.

Ross November 7, 2012 at 07:58 pm

“Quick – Cheap – Quality; pick two”

Many people argue you’re only getting one right now. I like kydex, but not at $100 and a couple dozen week lead time.

PJ November 7, 2012 at 02:29 pm

The wait time does seem kinda long for Kydex but plenty of people wait a month and a half (and often more) for custom made holsters. Twice I’ve impulse bought holsters and I’ve regreted it each time. That said, even if I thought I could use this I wouldn’t buy it on principle due to the stupid name. It’ll only encourage more stupid stuff like this in the future.

librarian November 7, 2012 at 03:45 pm

that’s what Erika looks like up close?
Pass

Caleb November 7, 2012 at 05:22 pm

OH THANK GOD. Finally a bulky product designed to carry mags in an awkward position with no retention! It’s useless in every way imaginable! If only there was a sport where you had to carry rifle and pistol mags at the same time…oh what’s that? They do that in 3-Gun? All the time? And they use gear you can run in? MADNESS I SAY, MADNESS.

egs5555 November 7, 2012 at 11:27 pm

$135!?!?!? I bought a 4×4 sheet of kydex for $38. I have a cheap rivet tool and a pizzaz to heat up the kydex. I can make 15 of those in a day for less than half the price.

Jim P. November 7, 2012 at 11:36 pm

My question is do the make a right hip mounted solution?

I’m seriously looking at the Red River Arms left eject AR.

Is RRA worth it though?

Steve November 9, 2012 at 07:18 am

I think you mean Rock Rive Arms.

To answer your question: Yes, yes RRA makes a damn fine AR. I have one myself. Tight fight all around, exceptional accuracy, and it eats all kinds of ammo.

AK™ November 8, 2012 at 04:01 am

Does cory think he’s Costa’s missing son? I mean what’s with the get up? He thinks he’s a tacticool “operator”..whereas the ENDO commentators probably think he looks more like a mall ninja.

the whole mag “dump” system thingy by FPS Kyle..I mean Russia..looks like crap.
Why not use either a Surefire 60 rounder,or 2 30 rounders either taped together or with a mag clamp?

czbeardly November 8, 2012 at 01:08 pm

So… I see the trend in tactical beards is soon at a all time high. So, since I have been rocking a beard for the past 18 years, does that qualify me as an OG tactical beard? OldBeard Tactical? Old Dirty Tactibeard? ok I stop now…

That dump system looks like crap, atleast for my use.. Even in 3Gun I would not use something like that.. Sure, I might be one of the few that likes FPS Russia, for the sheer fun of him shooting stuff I will neeeeeeeever ever see over here (Sweden represent!), but this.. this looks like *beep* :|

Church November 8, 2012 at 04:58 pm

She’s crazy, but I’d still hit it.

theblackknight November 8, 2012 at 06:34 pm

I dont really care what Tacnerd neck beards do on the internet, but these 2 clowns actually pass themselves off as instructors. Sad

Crunkleross November 8, 2012 at 06:56 pm

Good point. How many will take “instruction” from these two and think they are tier one operators?

Crunkleross November 8, 2012 at 07:00 pm

I can see that rig getting hung up on doorways, well lots of things, looks like you could knock the ar mag out with your elbow, besides being too much weight in one spot on a belt. Makes no sense except for range drills or competition and there are a lot better ways to carry for that.

AK™ November 8, 2012 at 07:52 pm

Hell I’d rather run a course while carrying a loaded AR mag between my teeth.

Crunkleross November 8, 2012 at 08:05 pm

Unfortunately that’s not an option for me unless they come out with operator grade Fixodent.

dan duckworth November 9, 2012 at 11:21 am

This is a really interesting product. Very useful in 3-gun or pistol/rifle matches. I will definitely be ordering one. I wonder why this has not been developed earlier.

Vanguard Armament November 11, 2012 at 12:07 am

To be fair, Kydex might not be a hard science, but it does take time; when making it for yourself, you have nothing to worry about since you can kill a few hours to make a product. But what happens when you get 50+ orders? (More, considering the publicity Bravo Concealment gets from FPS Russia)

theblackknight November 11, 2012 at 04:11 pm

If you need that much shit, You are prob shooting a 2gun/3gun, and should have double belt system that can handle the heft.

The only people who should be wearing patrol belts or vests are active duty or someone who gets fucking paid to carry a gun in bad places. If you have that shit and dont need it, wtf are you doing?

Jim P. November 11, 2012 at 04:20 pm

If you have that shit and dont need it, wtf are you doing?

Why do you have a gun? Because you need it?

What about a fire extinguisher? What about a smoke alarm? What about being 25 with a family; life insurance?

So before you criticize anyone, just ask yourself are you paranoid or prepared? Or are they?
