Fat Hands And The ZIP .22 LR Handgun Don’t Mix

Mattv2099 gets operated on buy the ZiP .22LR:

You can check out more pictures and background info on the ZiP Modular Weapons System over at the linked post.

To call the method of loading a round into that gun “stupid” would be the biggest understatement of the decade.  It’s the most retarded thing I’ve literally ever witnessed.

Mattv2099-OperatorI don’t know how well that gun is selling, but I’ve read so many posts on how people think it’s a piece of garbage.  I’m sure the appeal is still pretty large from a gimmick standpoint though.

Thoughts? Do any of you guys own one of these?

Bought one. Took it to the range and it sucked. I was so disappointed I shot myself in the face with it.

    Again, it failed.

That thing is an unsafe giant piece of stinking crap

  4. I’m impressed that he got that many shots off. I have yet to get 2 shots off in a row with mine. Correct spring to ammo setup and its never fired worked correctly.

There’s being “different” and there’s being “stupid”.

This gun is most definitely the latter.

Please people, do not encourage bad designs like this by paying these people money for their ill conceived handgun/SBR/under barrel mounted gun…

Even before I saw this video I thought to myself “Why in the hell would anybody want this thing?” It looks like someone tried to make a shitty pistol made for alien hands…

beep MOTHER FUCKER! Ill keep my M&P .22 pistol that was made to fit a human hand, not this crazy robo shit that looks like it should snap onto a mech warrior.

Did I see that correctly, you reach up to the MUZZLE to chamber a round? Was this an exercise to make the most non-ergonomic gun ever?

How long before Troy introduces an aftermarket pistol grip conversion?

Had it, TOTAL junk. Worked on it, the factory worked on it, NO JOY. THANK GOD it came from Davidson’s, they took it back. Put the money on a Glock 17.

Geez, I was thinking of getting one to pair with a 308 VEPR, now forget it, I will probably get a sp101 instead.

That’s the thing, there are all kinds of perfectly functional 22 LR pistols on the market, why bother with one that might hurt you?

Eh, it’s a moot point to me anyway, I can’t even get more than one box of 22 locally.

i personally do not see the interest in this gun at all. i actually don’t even get what the gimmick is? its ugly, seems unsafe, uncomfortable, and seems to function like shooting .22lr with a carrot… i guess its nice that it takes 10/22 mags?

    1. Takes 10/22 TEN ROUND BOX MAGS. You want to use the BX25’s? They sell a kit for that. I’ll buy it and try it.

It was there. The price was right. Curiosity got the best of me. Thought it would be fun to mess around with.

the only interest I had for this pistol was it took 10/22 mags ( blah blah it has an sbr stock .etc .etc but if you’re going to sbr something why not get a glock17/26 with the various stock attachments conversion or stupid fucking israeli under barrel attachment? ) and it wasn’t a tec 22 or a charger. The re strike/ charging rod was cool in concept if not putting your hand DANGEROUSLY close to the muzzle ( slam fire anyone? the could have opted for charging nubs ala CZ/tec22 ) and thats about it. The lego meets magpul AFG form factor didn’t really strike me as easy on the hands. didn’t even notice the ejection port issues that Mr. Ham hands so elegantly demonstrated. But that’s just another straw on camel with already severe back issues. Although admittedly I’d buy it if it was for sale for under a one hundred bucks ( just under hi point range) but at 200 I’ll continue my search for a tec 22

  14. I bought one – I read the manual, did a field strip, and then posted it on GunBroker within the hour. I didn’t even have a desire to shoot it after having taken it apart and putting it back together.

  15. i cant talk and known what it dose because i don’t have one
