Notch Hat – A Solution To A Problem No One Ever Had

Likely not wanted by operators who operate in operations, despite the picture suggesting it:

If you haven’t gathered by the pictures, the entire “selling feature” of this hat are the two notches cut out of the pre-curved visor.  I’m not sure why you can’t just pull your hat up 1/4″ like a normal human being when you’re wearing sunglasses, rather than wear a hat with bite marks taken out of it… but there you go…. BECAUSE AMERICA!

I’m sure they have that visor patented, otherwise you just know companies like NewEra would be all over this idea (hahah uhhhh no).

Notch-HatMrColionNoir operates hard and he likes his hats down really low… maybe he would like these?  I doubt it, because he’s a stylish mofo.

You can check out the entire lineup over at the Notch Hat website, and by all means buy the shit out of everything if you think it’s a good idea.

Thoughts?  Anyone else curious what the inevitable Notch underwear will look like?

Hmmm we should have a vote for dumbest new product.
1. that rail holster for your pistol on a long gun or “to put a gun on yo gun so you can shoot while you shoot”
2. the rotating rail
3. this hat.

Blazing Zero September 20, 2013 at 01:10 am

almost forgot
4. Zip .22

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 04:37 am

It’s hard to beat the stupidity of the rifle rail pistol holster.

Hunter57dor September 20, 2013 at 09:34 am
bandroidx September 20, 2013 at 10:12 pm

dont forget the cock rings for your ar-15 barrel.

3per July 21, 2016 at 09:31 pm

Get over it prick… A lot of people are glad they came out with this hat

chase September 20, 2013 at 01:11 am

I would rock it if it was only like 10 bucks, I’m the kind of douche that likes to have my hats bill on the optic and it is kind of uncomfortable when I’m using my 3 dollar bulk construction eye pro.

dave w September 20, 2013 at 05:34 am

well if you mount a rail on top of the optic and mount a ball cap on top of that, you will be set.
Wait! no one copy my idea, its neva been dun befo!

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 05:52 am

Just a matter of time. LOL

ENDO-Mike September 20, 2013 at 11:43 am

hahahha yea good call

SittingDown September 21, 2013 at 07:23 pm

New Magpul accessory announcement: The rail sling attachment hat and iphone case. :D ;)

StarvinPilgrim September 20, 2013 at 06:12 am

Amen Brother! I’ll be wearing one to matches as soon as I find them in a store where I don’t have to pay shipping.

Amen Brother! I’ll be wearing one to matches as soon as I find them in a store where I don’t have to pay shipping.

Regulus September 20, 2013 at 03:25 am

I guess I better buy one now before I DIE! Fuck all this tactical sales shit. Hey, buy our product cause if u don’t, ull get killed.

ENDO-Mike September 20, 2013 at 11:47 am

Oh you’ll still die, UNLESS… you get tactical shark jump Costa Lupus arm tape.

GreenMountain Human September 21, 2013 at 01:15 am

I think you need to wear the arm tape to get the proper fit adjusting the strap on the ninja turtle pack anyway. It helps you get the right dynamic pull angle…

Tim Ellwood September 20, 2013 at 03:47 am

This would go great with my scottvest travel underwear with passport pockets

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 04:40 am

If you have sunglasses, why would you need a visor?

Ski September 20, 2013 at 04:48 am

For the same reason people wear sunglasses indoors

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 04:51 am

Guess it’s only for the Tier 0 opz

ENDO-Mike September 20, 2013 at 11:44 am

I wear a hat + sunglasses all the time just so I don’t burn my forehead in the sun.

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 04:36 pm

You’re excused. But it does have a Dale Earnhardt sort of look to it. Though wearing both could protect you from contracting “Costa-Lupus” virus. The only cure for which is to burn seventy rolls of tactical arm tape and place the ashes into a coffin shaped like Chris Costa’s silhouette ;) :D

Taylor TX September 21, 2013 at 07:42 am

How dare you question my hattery?!

Sunglass + Visor is the way to go, I wear normal glasses most days and they definitely dont do the same job ha

Foq August 4, 2018 at 08:24 pm

retarded question.
hat protects from direct sunlight, sunglasses cover the eyes from the surrounding light.
One does not reduce the need for the other.

jim bob September 20, 2013 at 07:24 am

i heard you like rails, so we put a rail on your rail, so you can operate without going off the rails.

SittingDown September 20, 2013 at 07:42 am

To rail or not to rail, that is the question!

Grudge September 20, 2013 at 07:46 am

This hat needs rails!

Andy Wolf September 20, 2013 at 08:07 am

It looks better than those idiotic flat-billed fitted hats. Beyond stupid, especially worn at an angle. I wanna pop them off kid’s heads when I see it.

I have considered notching a hat or two, I have a small head, so a standard hat bill is all-encompassing.

Ed September 20, 2013 at 10:05 pm

Agreed on the flat billed hats. Some of us are any or all of: White, older than 14 years of age, employed and sober.

kobrabubbles September 20, 2013 at 09:16 am

I bought one to try out, so I guess I’m fashionally challenged in ENDO’s eyes, lol! But I wanted a Krytek hat. The fit and quality of the hat reminds me of UA heat gear stuff. Nice and comfortable. The notch didn’t work well for me when wearing Oakley Gascans, haven’t tried it on eye pros yet. It’s not deep and not that noticeable like I thought it would be. I’ll probably wear it to the range once I remove that damn button top!

kobrabubbles September 20, 2013 at 09:36 am

Taylor TX September 21, 2013 at 07:49 am

Kind of odd on a hat that is pretty much made for shooters, there is a button on the top of it.

ENDO-Mike September 20, 2013 at 11:45 am

Yea definitely not much Kryptek stuff out there at the moment to choose from. To each their own! I’m really critical / picky when it comes to clothing haha

RADCONar420 September 20, 2013 at 10:05 am

Here you go again! HATER!

ENDO-Mike September 20, 2013 at 11:46 am

2Wheels September 20, 2013 at 12:10 pm

Meh, interesting… But certainly not worth what they’re asking.

You cut a notch in a hat, big whoop.

Notch1 September 20, 2013 at 03:48 pm

Endo and others,
Thanks for the feedback on our product. Our hats aren’t for everyone (but then again, no hat is) but they do solve a problem that is common for many people. The response to our product has been overwhelmingly good, especially in the hunting/outdoor and tactical community. We’ll also be introducing a style very soon without the button on top as we have been flooded with requests for those from consumers and retailers alike. We’re veteran owned and operated and we would only ask that you suspend judgement until you have tried it for yourself.

Endo, we didn’t notice until it was brought to our attention that you altered our image…not cool.

Bygdawg September 20, 2013 at 06:33 pm

Don’t get too offended about the image, you got FREE exposure.

Jon September 20, 2013 at 10:10 pm

Don’t you mean “notch ool”?

Com’on, gotta work your product name in there somewhere, right?

OpsMcTops September 20, 2013 at 11:38 pm

Your comment was professional and I liked how you handled it up until: “Endo, we didn’t notice until it was brought to our attention that you altered our image…not cool.” Do you even internet? ROFLOLOLcopter I wish I had links to the past posts where co’s he posted about complained like that. What happened next got funny as fvck, that’s all I remember. Like the person below said you got got free advertising which probably costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars on this blog. Thank him and fade back into obscurity.

jim bob September 21, 2013 at 08:01 am

“Endo, we didn’t notice until it was brought to our attention that you altered our image…not cool.”

Maybe you should take your indignance….*puts on sunglasses* down a notch

denver/boulder chris September 21, 2013 at 09:32 am

I have nothing. You win, sir

kl September 21, 2013 at 10:24 am

Oooh, you’re taking requests?!? How ’bout a hat without a stoooopid notch in the bill? You could call the new product line “Not Stoooopid Hats”.

kl September 21, 2013 at 10:27 am

While I’m at it, I’ve got an idea for new tactical pants with a cut-out so your balls don’t chafe. They’ll be marketed under the tradename “Crotch-notch”.

MattW October 24, 2013 at 06:30 am

I may be a month late in commenting but this is some funny stuff

brotherNblue September 23, 2015 at 11:17 am

I am a police officer, and I love the notch hat. It’s great on the range and just to wear out. It is made of quality material. I don’t understand all the hatting, especially from those who haven’t tried it. Several of my brothers at the pd want one after I wore mine when we had to qualify on the range. I plan to buy another one myself. Notch keep up the good work.

mattv2099 September 20, 2013 at 11:17 pm

NOTCH hook me up. I’ll test out your operator as fuck gear.

OpsMcTops September 20, 2013 at 11:41 pm

liquid from your extreme glock torture troll tests could run down through that notch into your eyes and blind you temporarily, watch out for that!

Crunkleross September 21, 2013 at 07:34 am

I hope they make a version with a XXXL notch to fit around the Elvis glasses I always operate in.

SittingDown September 21, 2013 at 11:21 am
denver/boulder chris September 21, 2013 at 09:39 am

I think this is kind of frivolous, but I don’t operate, so while it’s not a problem for me, I can see the utility of this for the almost no one who needs this.

Seriously, I’m roflcoptering at the butthurt from the photo. It’s the internet. He could Photoshop wangs everywhere and be fine. Deal with it. You put a funny product out on the market, and it’s getting clowned. Just be glad you don’t bear a resemblance to a rather well known post-op tranny. I do admit the butthurt from that would be epic, though.

MarcRandall September 21, 2013 at 12:06 pm

Ha so much butthurt over the shopped pic. They must be good at telling from the pixels and seeing a lot of shops in their time. Product request: A notch in the back so I can grow a pony tail and wear a hat comfortably when I tactically operate

SittingDown September 21, 2013 at 02:04 pm

Stick with the drink hat with straws. Gives nourishment for half the price. For those days you just DGAF, wear the pinwheel hat and be really tacticool.

SouthPawByNW September 21, 2013 at 06:19 pm

How about a notch with an integrated bottle opener? That’d be pretty sweet. Operate and then pop open a beer.

R Wong May 18, 2015 at 07:02 am

I’m actually really interested in this hat for competition shooting. I wear a POV headcam on my head and when i tilt the hat back enough to clear my shooting glasses the cam is high of center. I’m hoping this hat will sit lower on my head with my shooting glasses and I’ll also be able to run my headcam at a better angle. Yes I’ve played with different cam mounting solutions, different cams, and different glasses. Here is a link to a video of a shooting match with the cam mounted to my hat.

Andrew November 5, 2015 at 10:57 am

For all of the nay sayers, there are actually a ton of LEO and USBP agents in the Yuma Arizona area that love and wear these hats on a daily basis, for work or otherwise.

Ericka June 30, 2016 at 07:44 am

I have had this problem for years! So I was quite excited to see this hat. Maybe its a girl thing because women’s sunglasses tend to be bigger framed than men’s? Thank you NOTCH!!!!!!

MysticDro July 9, 2017 at 12:01 pm

Admit it, you’re pissed you didn’t come up with this before they did asshole.
I wear glasses and this is a great idea.

MountainMan82 January 7, 2020 at 10:57 am

Shit.. Sumbitch adds 10 hp right out the gate.. and don’t touch the trim, shits custom…

Cheguei aqui apenas porque a ideia do “notch cap” me é muito útil e necessária. Todos os dias me aborreço em precisar deste produto e não ter onde comprá-lo próximo a mim. A combinação é perfeita. Parabéns aos criadores! Nem Jesus Cristo é unanimidade e mais da metade da população mundial não o aprecia; quanto mais um produto para isso exclusivo daqueles que necessitam.
I came here only because the idea of the “notch cap” is very useful and necessary to me. Every day I get annoyed at needing this product and not having a place to buy it close to me. The combination is perfect. Congratulations to the creators! Neither Jesus Christ is unanimous and more than half of the world’s population does not appreciate him; let alone a product for this exclusive to those who need it.
