Shooting Pellets With Nail Gun Blanks In A .22

Taofledermaus sciences it:

Keanu-WoahHoly, what the?  So muzzle loaded pellets with the nail gun blanks are actually amazing?  Huh.. who knew.

I wonder how long it will be until “Moms Demand Action” on this?

Good stuff. I wonder if one could glue the pellet on the blank and make it so you can load it through the chamber.

Or load it up directly into the chamber of a single shot .22 maybe?

Nothing I’d honestly want to try but it’s kinda cool

Quite a few people suggested/wondered the same thing. I originally tried to test these about 4 months ago and I had prepared about 20 rounds by tacking the pellets onto the blanks using a dab of hot glue. I wanted to take a few shots first myself – before handing it over to the shooter to make sure it was safe and functional. I loaded up the round- and the first shot– the back end of the case blew off and most of the blast came out the ejection port of the poor Speedmaster. No damage but the rest of the case was stuck in the chamber and we didn’t have the cleaning rod with us to knock it out. End of tests.

I think the problem was the pellet/primer was so short it did not seat the pellet high enough in the chamber. When we muzzle-load the pellets, the pellets are in the barrel, just slightly past the larger chamber. You’d think there would be a short-start issue but there wasn’t.

Thanks for telling us that; now my curiosity is satiated!

Seems like this would work well in a .22 revolver

Here is a little more info in my blog that no one ever looks at. I explain the issue about gluing the pellets directly onto the blanks.

Seems like the opening of the blank would deform the tail of the glued pellet. Probably ripping off a big chunk of the lead.

I feel a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of preppers instantly shat themselves and immediately drove to the home depot…
