Patriot Defensive Tactics – Training In Advanced Forward Rolls

So advanced, most of you probably wouldn’t understand:

Patriot Defensive Tactics‘ instructor Bill Vasser is crazy for this one. If you want to train with him, click the link and holla at a playa on Facebook.

The only part of the video worth watching is that first 17 seconds.  After that it’s POV, and boring as hell.   Well, the POV roll at 1:43 is worth a LOL at least.

Patriot-Defensive-TacticsThoughts?  Will 2015 be the year of the forward roll?

Ya I slipped up and skipped the good part! That’s the problem with people putting those dumb intros… I just click until something starts happening. I only saw that one POV roll when you sent me the vid because I’m so impatient haha.

We see you rolling; we hatin’.

Thoughts: Looks like a lot of opportunity to send rounds over the top of the berm. Damn, that thing’s short. Also, standing downrange in front of a roller at .08?

I saw that @ 0:24. What the hell are they thinking? Clearly shooting over the berm. Where those bullets ended up? Who cares!!!

Where’s Instructor Zero when you need him?

Food for thought. The tactics in the video, while shitty, look a lot like what the FBI trained in the early 70s. There’s a video called “shooting for survival” or something put out by DOJ that shows rolling and tactical pooping stance (and the slowest draws you’ll ever see). There’s a good chance this is just an old timer who didn’t keep up with the times. Or could just be another mcdojo looking to cash in.

I’ve learned to watch your TacticalDerp videos quickly – they have a habit of being “dissapeared” with quickness once you post them!

I concur that this “Barn and a Berm” training school could use some refinement. Like, having the berm stacked a little higher than your average 12 year old. It also saddens me that I’ve built better things from broken down pallets than their props; this coming from a computer geek who’s the reason their should be a power-drill registry.

Don’t stress, HCYV is now dedicated to hosting the “instructional videos” that are found and removed. So all the derpyness will have a home.

Somebody please re-edit this by speeding it up and adding the music from The Benny Hill show

The soundtrack told me everything I needed to know. Pantera is the James Yeager of metal bands.

If only! Carbon fiber ladders and hand thrown explosive charges in the mix too!

Wow, so many wrongs here.

1. That music reminds me a high school party I was at in ’91 where there cops showed up and we scattered into the woods.
2. Shooting over the berm, tactically sound – all day.
3. I don’t always muzzle sweep my head, but, when I do it’s wilth a tactical roll.
3. The 80’s surplus camo screams Red Dawn, the good one not the remake.
4. 180º rule is not for 360º operators.
5. When in doubt, just shoot shit, or transition to another gun, or whatever.

The only thing that would have improved this would be if the shooter tossed the weapon eight feet in front of herself, tucked, rolled, caught the weapon, put five “targets on rounds” slammed a double shot of whiskey, looked into the camera and said “Remember to tell your friends you saw it on ENDO.”

I believe there must be a moratorium instituted on the use of a Spartan helmet in logos for companies in the tactical space.

haha yea, so overused on t-shirts too. If I ever put a spartan helmet on a t-shirt it will only be for the sole purpose of making fun of its ubiquity.

I will only train with 11B’s who learned their habits in the sandbox.

Critical sandbox 11B skills like hurling MRE bombs over the Hescos, duct tape based field equipment repair, and managing a stealth jerk in the latrine.
