Moms Demand Action x Mayors Against Illegal Guns:

If the underlying message of this video was that we need to figure out how to stop these shootings by fixing the system through early/proper diagnosis of mental health issues, then I could get behind that.  Moms Demand Action is nothing more than a useless “BAN ALL GUNS” organization though.  They are sneaky / derpy with their videos and other advertising campaigns, but ultimately that is their goal.  You probably remember that they were at the forefront of the complaining to Starbucks that guns in their stores hurt poor widdle feelings.  I see on the Moms Demand Action website now they are bother Staples to “take a stand and prohibit firearms” in all their stores because of some shooting at a Staples in North Carolina.  Clearly guns and office supplies don’t mix… I have a pack of sharpies near my Glocks I should probably go move right now in fact.

Is a December 14th moment of silence really a thing they will make kids do at school?  If so, that would have scared the shit out of me.  “Hey class… last year some psycho walked in a school just like this one and slaughtered 20 kids just like you.  please sit here and think about that for a minute.”

The NRA with a new video from their Stand And Fight campaign:

Powerful use of music and text after effects.  I really like the message in this one even though from what I’ve seen the true meaning of the “Stand And Fight” has been vague so far.  Are we talking political fighting, or Buck Yeager style fighting?  Maybe they want to keep it vague on purpose?

NRA-We-Are-AmericaYou can check out the rest of the videos over at the Stand And Fight website.

Thoughts?  Do you like the direction they are taking these videos?

I could have done with the first minute of the commercial… but I guess it sets up the last half for people that aren’t familiar with the gunny.

You might remember the Trigger The Vote – Chuck Norris ad from 2010.  It was quite a bit funnier than this one.

In today’s climate I’d say a better campaign for schools in general would be “carry a gun, save lives”.

Not surprising that Jaleel White wasn’t in “Steve Urkel” mode for this ad.

Since the shirt isn’t going to have any effect on the actual poachers of the tigers it seems like a pretty poor marketing campaign. I really expected more from Leo Burnett , the famous advertising agency that apparently did this for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

I suppose it might work alright to generate awareness of the poaching problem… but I still fail to see what that will solve, unless there is a huge mainstream market for Siberian tiger stuff I am not aware of.

Hilarious! I don’t think they could have shoehorned another stereotype in there if they tried.

TriggerTheVote.Org is the site the NRA is promoting.
